I'd go both distances, as well as from a stop and a 10-15mph roll. Get the measure of both. You're bound to beat him at least on one.

my money is on the C. I'm hoping the camry, being old, has lost some of its original paper specs. good luck!
if you have a buddy who's into drag racing and is lighter than you, have him drive your C. LOL!

gut the rear seats, and remove the spare. also any misc stuff you got in the car that could weigh it down. make sure you don't eat all day, get a good poop in, and lower the tire pressures somewhat. turn off all your accesories, roll the windows up and also get your gas tank as empty as possible.

Go for the 1./8th; you have a good chance of winning there but not full quarter miles. The C in non econ mosde has a good chance to beat many cars to 30mph. Just dion't tashke on Vettes, WRX's or STI's. Or 911's or Boxsters.

Ya, the Prius C is good for 0-30 mph dragging thanks to the motor boost, as you note. but beyond 30 it starts to lseout though not as badly as you might think. For most uses its at least adequate. And since it gets 48 mpg compared to my Vette's 17.7, I kiss it's little shiny bald head every time I get in it. (if they put gearheads on the sex offenders list I'm right on top; might have heard that on top gear)

The C will run the same 0-60 time in ECO as it will when it's not in ECO...

Sooooo.. it's been a while since I posted...

Just an update, my buddy's camry blew a head gasket. He refuses to race because he doesn't want to break anything else.

But you have to admit, the idea is definitely fun!

Reports are that the C is slower than similar cars by .5 second or so. My guess is this is deceptive.

The C is slow out of the hole only. All that electric, then gas, plus transition, and no ability to get revs up and spin tires makes it appear slow. But once it's out of the hole and moving on engine...it's pretty darned zippy. Turn off the ECO and mash the gas and tell me it doesn't move out.

Or leave ECO on and mash the gas for the same result...

Nah. Has a better feel about it with ECO off.

It's OK to turn off ECO. I won't tell anyone...

I agree that mashing the gas doesn't really matter in Eco or not. But I do agree that psychologically, "Has a better feel about it with ECO off"

My friends call my C the "Party Prius" because it's the only prius they seen that is actually fun

But that is just subjective... to me it doesn't "feel" any different.

I guess it is subjective. I don't know. I won a race against a beater by forfeit.
    Some street cred haha
