My primary reason for leaving the ECO button on is because in my climate, I use the AC a lot of the time. For about six months of the year it's on pretty much 100% of the time. In the winter months I use it "frequently". The impact of ECO Mode on fuel economy in this circumstance is very significant, with only minimal change in AC performance, so it's a no brainer in my circumstances.

I try to run with the a/c off whenever I can. It's not always easy, but as I tell my children, "There's always somebody doing twice as good as you, giving double the effort...on one leg." Meaning, don't complain.

I went back/forth to home for lunch today with the ECO off. Got better than usual mpgs doing it.

USBSW, MPGs are good, don't misunderstand me. But I'm not a slave to them and route/wx/location are as important as patience. My best tank was 60.7, but I know people have done much better than that. I'm cool with it.

It gets hot (and humid) here... choosing to not use AC would be being even more of a slave to fuel economy than you are riling against, but that said, with ECO Mode, the car handles it quite well.

Use the A/C when necessary. The battery is also in the cabin with you. So if you aren't comfortable, the battery probably isn't either. You'll pay in the long run if the battery is stressed all the time due to cabin heat

But I LIKE heat. It's not like it's a problem. It would be awesome if the C had those old-timey wing vents. Or maybe a windshield that opened out at the bottom.

I'm done. You can say you won if you want.

I already "won"... you're arguing about someone's personal preference. I was just telling you how it is... you can choose to understand it or not understand it.

The part I find most entertaining is why you feel ECO mode use is slavery or failure and non-use is success. The suggestion that it matters to anyone other than the person making the choice is absurd.

It's funny that he has a picture of Hank Hill with a name of Mr Incredible. He has plenty of options to pick from for Mr Incredible.
