Let us know how you like them or dislike them. The more info the better! I have a feeling though that you will like them.

Energy Savers installed today! I like the look of them and I can already tell even though I've only driven 10 miles on them that the car rolls better. I also noticed on the off ramps that the car sticks better, which is a bonus. I was contemplating up-sizing my tires, but really wanted the Energy Saver tires so this looks like a win win. I should get better mileage and it looks like I'll have better performance too.

What are you running the pressure at? Did you go with nitrogen or straight air? Good luck with your choice. I bet you will be happy with them. I have no complaints with ours. I have about 1200 miles on ours now. I still have not seen a "DROP" in MPG, but rather a increase and I have not changed my driving habits even though I do hypermile on occasion but am not one who strives for 60 MPG. I only P&G in certain areas, but for the most part just drive the Prius and enjoy the nice smooth quiet ride.

I'm running 40F and 38R on regular air.

As I was driving this morning I did notice the Speedo/GPS has improved and shows a 1 mph difference vs almost 2 mph difference with the old GY Integrity tires.

So after driving with the tire pressures set to 40F and 38R for a few days I decided to lower it down to 36F and 34R as I felt too much road vibration. When I had the GY Integrity tires I usually ran 42F and 40R without issue so I'm assuming the Michelin tires have a stiffer sidewall and don't need the extra psi.

I do agree the side walls seem to be stiffer than the OEM Integrity's or at least the Energy Savers have a stiffer ride to them if you pump them all the way up. I am still running 40F 38R, but with air they tend to leak a little over time. I usually let them leak down about two pounds before I pump them back up. When I first got them, I set them at 38F, 36 R and had a real smooth ride with decent MPG. I have about 1300 miles on them now. I am still very pleased with them. They seem to be settling it well and actually seem to have gotten a little quieter at 45 MPH. I don't seem to notice the rumble I first mentioned. Either that or I have gotten used to it.

I purchased the tires through tirerack.com for $490.86 shipped and it was another $90 for mounting and balancing at the dealership.

A little update after having gone through nearly 3 tanks of gas with the new Energy Savers. I believe the gas mileage has indeed improved! My average prior to these tires was 48.4 mpg and for the past two tanks I've hit 50.17 and 50.80 mpg. So even without the tires being "broken in" i'm seeing better mpg!

I am seeing basically the same thing on our Prius. Even though I do short trips with a lot of parking while running A/C in hot temps, my mileage does appear to be improving. Like yourself, I too have been through three tanks of fuel. At no time did I see a "drop" in mileage which was something I was hoping for. Glad to hear you like your choice!

...I see Tire Rack has two speed rating version for the A/S for the 2006 Prius...sounds like you opted for the higher load ratings...is that an option?

Ugh I need to get over the price vs. Continental Eco-Plus which I have on the front now...I know tread life is issue with the Conti's and MPG is better for the A/S. Let's say A/S get 3 MPG better thats about $70 MPG savings per year, I suppose that about makes up the $$ difference.

The 15" Michelin Energy Saver A/S stock size comes in two ratings 86T and 88H ie: P185/65R15

The OEM Goodyear Integrity on the Prius came with size P185/65R15 86T tires.

The 86T is a few dollars less than the 88H. The difference as I understand it is weight rating as well as a speed rating.

Running the 86T on ours. Nice tires for sure. Definitely better than the OEM Goodyears.

After five tanks of fuel with mixed city and highway driving I can honestly say that the Michelin Energy Saver A/S is performing very well on our Prius. My overall MPG average is still climbing. So far I am very pleased with these tires and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone, especially someone who is driving a Prius. As I have stated before, I saw NO reduction in MPG. Rather I am seeing the MPG improve. I have not changed my driving habits, nor have I employed any extra tactics that I have not been using since before the change. I am looking forward to the upcoming fall months where I can turn the A/C off and enjoy even better numbers than now.

Just a quick note. Every tank seems to be getting better and better. I believe the new tires are getting broke in now. Went a full 500 miles on last tank. Never done that with the crappy Integrities. Averaged 63.8 on the MFD and 60 at the pump. Very pleased with the Energy Saver A/S. Will know more after they have ran for a full year and will be able to do a solid comparison. Overall average has risen from 48.1 to 48.6 since the new tires went on. Average with the new tires only is presently at 53.5 MPG. With all that said, if you need tires and can find a set of the Michelin Energy Saver A/S for your Prius, don't hesitate to buy them. Excellent tire if you are interested in MPG. I also note that they give great traction even in the rain. No snow here, so I can't say anything about that.

It has been a month since I updated this thread. I am still very happy with the new tires (Michelin Energy Saver A/S) The mileage is definitely better than the original Integrity's.

I have added another fuelly to demonstrate the mileage difference. So far the numbers are about 5 MPG higher, but the data needs to run at least one year to account for the cooler winter.

Nice riding tires, real quiet. Glides further and easier than stock tires.

Fall has definitely arrived, and the cold north winds will be upon us before long. It will be interesting to see how the temps affect our Prius this Winter in comparison to last year.

I filled up today which makes the eleventh tank of fuel since the new Michelin Energy Saver A/S were installed on our Prius. I have logged roughly 4400 miles on them. A week ago, I changed the oil and filter along with rotating the tires. So far, so good. The tires are still performing excellently. The ride is very comfortable when you consider the pressure I am running (40F 38R). The MPG overall average with the new tires is 55.2 at this time. Most of what I drive is around town, chauffeuring the ladies to and fro as well as trips to the doctor and the grocery store. I hypermile when I can, and try to combine all trips together when possible. I also limit my speed on the highway to 55 or 60 unless I am running late or being pushed to get somewhere quickly which is not very often.

When studying the MPG on fuelly and looking at this time last year, I see a dramatic difference. The only real change was the tires during the year's time as I have been running synthetic oil longer than that. Also my driving habits haven't changed that much over the year. With that said, it sounds reasonable to me that the tires is what is responsible for the increase in the gas mileage.

If I were to buy new tires today, I would buy another set of the Michelin Energy Saver A/S without a doubt. That is how much I like them.

Hope this helps in those who might be considering this tire brand. Also thanks goes out to F8L | PriusChat for his personal consultation concerning tire recommendations.

For those who purchased energy savers, how did you decide whether to purchase 86T or 88H?

Unless you plan on driving faster than 118mph (86T) there is no reason to go for the (88H) which is rated at 130mph. The H is both more expensive and weighs more at 18lbs vs 17lbs for the 86T.

    Happy New Year Everyone.

Wanted to update the info on MPG for the Michelin Energy Saver A/S. With a little over 6300 miles on them now I believe they are fully broken in. I am running 40F 38R. Weather has been colder here in Houston than usual. Winter actually came early down here. Worst MPG so far this winter has been 45.0 at the pump. Overall average on the tires for the first six months is running 53.7 - I do expect that number to fall as the colder months are still ahead of us.

Still seem to like the tires. They handle well in the variable weather conditions we have here. No snow to deal with here, but plenty of rain and lately a lot of cold weather.

Will update again probably about two or three months from now.

If anyone was to ask me today which tires to buy for the Prius, I would still recommend these if they have a fat wallet. Otherwise it would be the Bridgestone EP422.
