I'm finding out the BT connection is weak and intermittent when I'm at or below 2 ticks on the charge of my phone. Once fully charged, BT seems solid.

We have the same phone at we are learning that the Prius Bluetooth and the droid razr 4.1.2 are NOT compatible. Before we bought our 13 level 3 we made sure that our phones (my wife and I both have the same Droid) were compatible. They were-for about 3 weeks. Then my wife noticed that after the first call the phone directory was no longer available. She would initiate the call manually only to have the call drop after 30 seconds or so. Then the phone would lock up and not work until the bluetooth was turned off. The bluetooth got into such an argument that it actually froze the radio and the car had to be shut off and restarted!
My wife contacted the dealer and they arranged to have a "roving tech" trouble-shoot the problem. After the system did its tricks, he took copious notes and screen shots and came to the conclusion that both the phone and the car were working properly, but they would not "play in the same sandbox".
My wife has also contacted Motorola and they too are stumped. So far we have had 3 phones lock and freeze both the phone and the radio (wifes orig phone, her replacement phone after one tech deemed the original defective and my phone) They are all using android 4.1.2 operating system. Whether its the OS or the Verizon mods to it or what knowbody knows...yet
We hope to get to the bottom of this.

The droid Razr that the op and we have IS on the list! The only non-compatible areas are texting and text display which we didn't care about. We keep pointing this out to Toyota on our visits.

Did you try to reset the phone by removing the battery? Usually it takes care of the issue you are seeing.

The battery on a Motoerola Droid Razris unfortunately not removable.

We think we now know what the issue might be. Toyota corporate called my wife and asked her to 1. Pair her sons iphone to her car and test it for function. and to then bring her phone to the selling dealer and pair her phone to various Toyotas that they have in stock to see if her phone will cause issues on other cars.
The caller from Toyota said that they are finding out that some android phones running on 4.1.2 (jellybean) are having issues and it is their belief that it is the jellybean update that is the issue. Jellybean was first accidentally released in Feb of this year, and then starting in late March it started getting released as an automatic update. It is nice to know that Toyota is aware of a problem and is trying to resolve it :)

You know the really funny thing about that list.

Not. One. Phone is 100% fully compatible with "Message Alert" feature. They're all partially compatible, Testing, or not compatible.

Nothing funny, the phone maker does not make phones to be 100% compatible to all system out there, may it be Toyota or Ford.

Google does not include their own version of Bluetooth implementation and each phone provider does it their own way. I heard Google is making attempts to change that in the future.

if you visit the Toyota - Entune site the data presented for SMS Text (I assume its the same as Message Alert) is different. It is confusing.

Your right. I saw on the spec sheet for Android 4.3
Android 4.3 will now support low-energy Bluetooth Smart accessories
    and
Google devices running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean can sync with Bluetooth enabled car stereos and offer additional functionality. The Bluetooth AVRCP 1.3 version allows stereos to display metadata such as song names when music is being streamed from an Android 4.3 device.

I have a new Prius 13, my android phone has worked fine on my 2006 Prius for 7 years. After 2 months of the phone working fine on the 2013 Prius, it now disconnects after a few minutes of starting and connecting. The phone then seems to not function at all until I turn off the bluetooth on the phone. Then I can make calls manually. When I try to reset up the phone/bluetooth in the car, the systems says Bluetooth off and when I touch that to turn Bluetooth on, nothing happens. It certainly seems that the problem is with the cars system that something is turning off the bluetooth system and not letting the user turn it back on.

You are now a member of a small but growing club of dis-satisfied owners that just wish that Toyota, Panasonic and the software companies would sit down together and 1. fix the issue and 2. develop software guidelines so that these kinds of issues won't happen again. If I knew of a phone of ANY brand that would work on the Verizon network AND pair with our Toyota I would gladly buy it for my wife. As it is now we had to buy a bluetooth speakerfor the phone at Costco and we are now using it as the radio in the Prius (level 3) is only a radio now, not a handsfree voice command system and we don't even know what entune is as it is useless with the phone we have now :( I am not even going to talk about Sirius which when coupled with Panasonic and installed in a Prius is nothing more than extra weight to haul around.

I am having the same problem and have had it back to the dealership twice. They disconnected the battery and did a cold boot of the system and it worked for a day. Now it works sometimes and does the turn off thing sometimes. I bought the Prius because it was supposed to be reliable. I wanted two things on my Prius - Bluetooth and a backup camera. The backup camera is fine although being panoramic makes it hard to judge distance and my blue tooth does not work.

What phone do you have, and who is your provider? Also what android version are you running? To find the version on your phone go to setting then "my phone" and scroll down to android version. Some techs think it has something to do with android version 4.1.2

I wish I had read this before I bought the 2013 Prius three. I am having the exact same problem (bluetooth not staying connected) since day 1. So i took the car to the dealership and they replaced the whole audio/nav unit. Still the same problem with the second one.

This is really stupid since my phone works with all other cars (I travel a lot and rent cars all the time).

What does Toyota say now. I have had my car for 10 days and am frustrated.
