At 650 miles my engine has started running 'rough'.

    I think the OP is complaining the engine growls when he push the paddle hard trying to accelerate.
    This is normal for HSD drive. Likely this is the first hybrid the OP owns.

    There should not be a growling from your engine with only700 miles. BTW why did you take your 2113 in for5000 mile ceck at 700 miles or did they csll it that and now you don't have 5k check?
    There are a number of reasons for the growl: loose timing chain, valves, even gears but I suggest you go to a different dealer to check. Make sure you and Toyota gets a copy of your report.
    BTW 5 mile trips aren't good for any IC engine. Try once a week to drive at least 25 miles omn a single trip.
