That is very unlikely. If there is any electrical or mechanical activity, a sensor somewhere knows.

This was the post I was talking about. If it won't start, I doubt it will have a DTC.

It's also why, I asked this question....
If the READY inductor is not on, then it should have a DTC stored.

A whole host of things go on before the car 'starts.'

The only situation I can imagine that might meet your scenario is pulling the 12v out of the car.

Yes, and if the READY indicator isn't on, it will store a DTC and never start the ICE

Force Charging was a procedure on Gen 2s, I have not tried it on my C yet. Procedure is, go to ready, Emergency Brake ON, Left foot on brake pedal, put in D, step on gas. It used to normally take about a minute only to charge it to FULL, that is ~80%. Full throttle is not necessary and the car is self regulating, as to speed and charge. Will not harm.. Just got my C today so I am still learning it's ways, don't have the slightest idea if this works on the C .

. Often Prii are wrecked and repaired/ sold to unwary buyers who only see a good body repair when in reality, much front end damage was done to the electronics, hydraulics , inverter and other associated HSD COMPONENTS. What does the body man know about Proper operation of a Hybrid?
