My 2010 Prius was totaled (still missing it!) and I'm considering the Prius v as a replacement. My only concern is acceleration difference between the two since they use the same engine. Has it been an issue for anyone? Thanks!

There's as much as you want, but it does need a bit more gas to get the job done. It certainly wouldn't be part of my decision if I was choosing one or the other.

Especially in PWR mode; it's like an aircraft carrier catapult launch.

    Yes, from 0 to 10mph!

Let's face it... Talking about acceleration in a Prius is an oxymoron. Excellent gas mileage and reliability, but the car has less acceleration than the car I learned to drive on (1985 Plymouth Colt).

It's like asking an anorexic to do bench presses.

    Great commute car, though :p

Actually prius v may be better since it has a higher numerical final drive ratio which is probably the biggest factor on lower gas mileage for the v.

    Drive one.

I run in eco mode 99% of the time and drive it like I did a 4 cylinder SUV which it partially replaced. No real pulse and glide but a little sanity, I don't care about the last 3% of MPG. When I really have to get out of a parking lot into oncoming traffic, I turn on the pwr button and then it acts more like the Porsche it also replaced. I do that less than 2 times a month. I run up and down the east coast on 95 (2 in the car) and merge easily though I don't try to outrun anyone, rather waiting for a gap in traffic before merging. I've been passed by v's when they were doing 85+.

I bought for the room, the carrying capacity and the MPG. None have disappointed. My only prior hybrid experience was driving my son's Prius hatchback maybe 2-4 miles.

I started a thread here on my thoughts on the v's best and worst attributes, others added their thoughts. Might want to look at that.

    Would I buy a v again, yes.
