Trailer harness wiring for Plug-in

    I just got the 119147KIT from etrailer.com and figured out the turn signal wiring (green/yellow), but where do I connect the brown (tail light) and red (stop) wires to?

    Please, anyone? I'm looking for the wire that runs to the red LEDs. Would I need to remove the light housing? Anyone with a non-plugin 2012 that can tell me what color wires go into the connectors on the passenger/battery side?

    The kit I bought from etrailer for my 2010 hatchback had two pre-wired connectors for each side. I simply unplugged each tail light (behind the removeable panels), plugged one connector into the tail light and one connector into the factory harness. The remaining connections were to the battery (via a built-in fuse )and a ground. With this system, my trailer lights are powered from the battery - not the car's wiring harness. Three years and no troubles so far.

    Thank you for the responses.

    Indy John, the plugin doesn't have the connectors, it has to be hard wired. It would help though if you could tell me what color wires go into the connector that runs from the car side. I would imagine there would be green/yellow, white/black, etc. Need to know what color would be the brake and running lights.

    I am trying to connect a Tow-Ready wiring kit (119190KIT) to my 2015 PIP and cannot locate the access panel for the red LED brake and tail lights on the left and right sides of the rear of my car.

    I found the easy-access panels for the yellow and clear bulbs on each side (ie, yellow turn signal bulb & clear back-up bulb). On each side of the car, both bulbs are accessed by removing one hard plastic 3inch-by-5inch "pop out" panel.

    But, I see no other pop-out panels that allow access to the red tail/brake lights (LED).

    I partially removed the single soft but somewhat flexible panel that runs all along both the left and the right side of the trunk area (ie, the area behind the rear seats). On each side of that area, there is one big, formed panel which I pulled loose from the many friction clips. As I pulled this flexible panel loose past where the rear-seat safety belt retracts into, I found the clips on that part not to be popping loose.

    But the bigger problem for me is this - behind the part of that panel that I **WAS** able to pull free ie, that part of the panel around the hard-plastic plastic 3-by-5" panel covering), I found a black rubbery "layer" adhering strongly to the metal wall behind it. I could not pull/pry it loose from the metal.

    If ANY one knows how to locate the wiring for the red LED brake and tail lights, please respond. Thanks in advance.
