at the socal prius meet, i had the pleasure of trying different shifts and they all felt plasticy. i suspect that gravax, stge 10, ogs, and all the other ones are the made in the same chinese factories but add slight differences (led colored buttons, outer casing color, and emblems)

OGS is made in Japan. Not sure about the others, but would be really surprised to find out they were from China.

Many JDM products are made in Tawian (even some of them that claim to be made in Japan).

More important to me would be reliability, function and liability.

Again and again, we hear news reports of individuals backing into pedestrians and running into houses and stores.

That's why, why annoying, I wouldn't disable the reverse beep or the engine sound warning for pedestrians.

That which many dismiss as trivia, can and will KILL you!

I the electronic push button shifter malfunctions, you're stranded. You're going to get towed to the dealer, and you're going to pay for a NEW OEM shifter and will pay labor to have it installed.

Nah, that's an exaggeration. You have it towed to your house and put the stock shifter that you've offed back in.

Always a good idea to keep the stock items as a back up.

How often do you drive more than 200 miles from home?

That's why everyone has heard of Lindbergh. Nearly no one remembers Nungesser and Coli or Stanton Wooster.

If that describes your driving habit, the stock shifter is small enough to keep in the car.
