Do Prius Owners "Cheat" at Four-Way-Stop Intersections?

I always stop and I also always use my turn signals, which seems to be a lost art among the drivers around here.

 

Complete stops may save you more money than all the good mileage. Cops always check the speed of a red Porsche and the non-complete stop of Prius.

 

I looked at the 2 articles they linked and no where I find the Prius. I think Yahoo added the Prius in their article just to get attention.

 

...who drives solo just running errands, and doesn't know how to park or back up without intruding into someone else's right of way.

Same in my area. People are just so damn lazy.

 

Lost me at "other high status cars (including Prius hybrids)"..............

I have a theory of why ppl think Prius drivers are the worst.

Take that same terrible BMW driver and put him in 5 different cars to drive around town. Let say those 5 cars is a Camry, Focus, Accord, Malibu, and a Prius.

So for months he drives around in different cars doing what he does best, cutting ppl off, not signaling, cheating at stops, speeding, etc.

Out of the 5 cars that he drove...which one do you think ppl will remember him for being a terrible driver? Yes the Prius.

I think the Prius is a very iconic car. On the road it is easily noticed, the shape and for what it stands for...ppl just remember it easily. This is why you see bad comments of Prius drivers owning the road which in reality we are the same bad drivers. It just that the Prius is more easily recognizable than any other normal cars.

Same here, no matter what car I drive or drove. But, if there is another car anywhere near the intersection, I stop. It's when there's nobody around that I cheat. I admit it. And I also admit that at times I exceed the speed limit.

Well, it's so bizzare to read that we are jerks. We bought this car (Prius) because we take care of earth, people and....money)

 

The 4-way stop by me has blind spots, so you have to be nuts not to make a complete stop. I always stop at stop signs and right turns on red. There's a red light camera up the hill from me and it also takes photos of those that don't come to a complete stop on a right on red.

 

Anyone really I mean REALLY tired of that Wall Street Journal article and that stupid supposed "study"?

Cars don't drive the people, people drive the cars. You want to contend that the psychological profile of a BMW owner or a Prius owner results in a pattern of driving behavior? Go ahead, but I think you are wasting your time.

There's a huge diversity in BMW owners, and a huge diversity in Prius owners. I can tell you without hanging around a intersection with a clip board, that there are jerks that drive BMW's and jerks that drive Prius. There are jerks period.

But it's not the wheel someone is behind that makes someone a jerk, it's the jerk behind the wheel.

 

The neighborhood near my house solved the problem. The city replaced ALL of the stop signs with YIELD signs.

 

Just remember, the WSJ is now owned by Rupert Murdock.
