    Add to the list via ALEC, add taxes to hybrids and EVs. The EVs I somewhat understand if usage rated but hybrids, no.

    Are you saying cnw is supported by alec, that wouldn't suprise me. I don't really think alec cares about renewables, only if their doners get some of the money. They were a leading sponsor of closing down women's clinics in the texas special session. ALEC wanting taxes for hybrids makes more direct sense than that. They are tied to Mike Kelly who wants to use hybrid and EV taxes to keep oil subsidies. Now why anyone would listen to ALEC or congressman Kelly is beyond me.

    I vote you get a Hummer. Spinella says they're way more efficient than a Prius anyway.
    I'm sure Hummer owners feel way less entitled than Prius owners too.

    Yap, not wealthy jerks for sure.
    Usually broke from all that fuel cost and then there is the McMansion foreclosure, too.

    Well, I was BMW'd today. First, he blows the stop sign on my left and cuts in front of me on the street I was making a right on. I wound up behind him at a light where, when the light changed, he continued to look at something on the seat next to him. I tapped my horn, but he kept looking, so the guy behind me and I leaned on our horns. He popped his head up like a meerkat and starts looking around. When he finally takes off, he goes up a few blocks and suddenly decides to make a left, no signal of course, and cut right across the path of a pick-up truck coming from the opposite direction. :mad:

    Here's an important lesson from those of us here in OC - Southern California ;
    when the BMW nearly runs you over - don't throw your soda can towards their car to show your disapproval. In case you didn't know - that's the BMW signal for "game on" ..... prepare for his u-turn, & take cover ... because you're in his world now

    With a guy like that, hopefully they'll be throwing the book at him.

    Perhaps he read the original story and took it as instructions on how to drive. <grins>

    Perhaps those phd's at berkely aren't so dumb.

    I am glad we don't have road rage here like in southern California. concealed weapons may cut down on drivers like that:(

    I believe AG was referring to licensed carrying of concealed weapons. I see no mention that this 1999 case involved such a license holder.

    In my state, about 8% of the adult population is so licensed. Such offenses by them remain quite scarce, far far less common than SoCal's road rage shootings. And among the few such offenses I have heard about in this state over the past couple decades, it seems that more than half are also off-duty LEOs (who can still legally carry without the license) or military personnel.

    That seemed like it was simply murder. The privileged SUV driver, tailgates and drives recklessly. When the driver she tormented got out of the car she shot her. I was told when I leaned to drive never to confront the tailgater, they may be even more dangerous.

    Yes exactly. I was not in favor of our concealed carry law, but crimes have gone down not up.

    You don't know Berkeley - sometimes it looks like one out of every five cars is a Prius. All the 60-70 year old ex-Hippies drive them or a 30 year old Mercedes diesel running on used french fry oil. ;)

    Berkeley doesn't like left turn signals (there are only a few dozen in the whole town) and they blocked off half of the side streets so you are forced drive thru town on a limited number of roads.

    They also once put plastic flags on the street corners so the pedestrians could wave them at the cars while crossing the street. The idea was to grab a flag on one side and drop it off on the other side. I guess the locals could only grasp half of the idea. They understood GRAB but not DROP and after a few weeks there were no more flags.
