Anyone ever put in one of these different push start buttons? I can't find any threads about them.

Ah ok. How's the install on the push button switch? Is it as simple as removing that part of the dash and making a swap? Any threads on that?

I haven't seen any threads on how to remove the switch..... the Tom's that I got are easier to install because these are just covers and not the whole switch..... so I don't need to remove the whole switch when I installed it.....if the TRD's are just covers like mine then it's easy..... but if it's the whole switch then it would be more work to install it.....

    I don't think I'd like those buttons.

The Red makes them look like the emergency flashers.

And when I first glance at the TRD is see TURD.

    Thanks Bino.

That one right there looks great.

I'm not sure I'm interested in the TRD myself either, but thought it was worth posting.

Yeah, I got the TRD button. Simple plug and play once you get the button out. No other work required.

The 2010-11 has both the start and hazard buttons in black. The 2012-13 has blue start button and red hazard button.

The solid red hazard button is a bit of an eyesore and loud but I totally understand the change as the black button with red hazard symbol is way too easy to overlook, especially in emergency situations. The blue start button is pretty cool though. I have absolutely no blue in the interior of my 2010 ever since I swapped out the stock shift knob for the JDM piano black one.

I'll pass, too. Remember Rube Goldberg? To me, it is a complicated method of doing a simple function for complication's end.

How'd you get the button out?

This might not apply to LHD cars given it's a RHD world here. I pulled out the audio surrounds first and after that, you're able to just pull on the panel that surrounds the start button. That panel is just held on by clips.

Once you have the panel out, you can push the button out by pushing it from the back (after you've unplugged the connector behind the start/stop button.)

Thanks. That'll be helpful information to someone I imagine.

I wonder if I could make a custom cover... hmm.

Okay, this is the closest thread I found to post my start button mod. Not a true mod, more of a dress-up. But for $14 and 30 secs to line it up and press on, I think its a great buy! What are your thoughts? FullSizeRender-2.jpeg FullSizeRender-3.jpeg
