    A CLOGGED BLOWER MOTOR CAN CAUSE PREMATURE FAILURE OF YOUR VERY EXPENSIVE HYBRID BATTERY.
    THERE IS NO TOYOTA SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE FOR THIS.
    IF YOU DON’T HAVE AT LEAST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS YOU PROBABLY DON’T NEED TO PERFORM THIS CLEANING:
    SMOKER IN CAR;
    DUSTY DRIVING CONDITIONS;
    DOG THAT SHEDS IN CAR.
    IF YOU ARE A DO-IT-YOURSELFER, THIS IS A PRETTY SIMPLE PROCEDURE.
    IF YOU'RE NOT, BUT YOU HAVE THE CONDITIONS LISTED SEE A QUALIFIED MECHANIC TO PERFORM THE SERVICE, PROBABLY 60,000 MILES.

    I wonder if one of those fancy bore-scope video devices would be able to see the squirrel cage blower and instantly diagnose whether a cleaning is in order or not. How far down the ductwork would you have to go?

    Probably have to go about a meter. I thought about something like that, but if you don't already own one, how much are you willing to spend to get one. I have a friend who is a certified Ford mechanic and he didn't have one.

    Something for Autozone to keep on hand, in addition to their "code reader" service.
