So i recently been looking into plasti dip and stumbled upon some idea after watching videos i seen the same guy fonzie from dipyourcar after watching vid after vid i decided it was time to get a dippin. 2 weeks after my kit i finally received the kit including 4 anthracite grey 1 clear coat (only color they say to do 1 clear coat) and 1 smoke to play around with...
Note : need to dip in a non dusty area !!
Called my dad told him i need his garage to dip got the okay and my journey was started. The kit also came with a kit to dip your wheels while they are still on the car ! 4 standard garbage bags and 1 cleaning solution to clean wheels before you dip. If used with water you need to wait to dry vs using there solution which is no wait. The journey i say was a learning process as wheel as an easy journey. If you used spray cans you will have no problem! The kit came with bags to cover up your rims covering rotors and brakes make sure you cover everything you dont want sprayed but miner spray will rub off easy with goof off.Tire shine your tires from overspray peels right off after.I started 50 percent tran. for the first two coats of grey next. The next three where very thin but heavy layers. Make sure your last two sprays you drive the car forward or back 3 feet to make sure you dip every spot even. Now the clear coat you want to make sure you do it right the first time noting you only need 1 coat unless you want a major polish look and feel. 1 heavy coat of clear and i was ready for the logos .......make sure you wait 8 to 10 min to dry each coat and final i waited hour n half should wait 2 but my garage was very hot and the heat helps your dip settle.

Tapped up logos with blue painters tape wide range and put towels on the car to protect from over spray. Did about the same technic with the rims just way easier because you not dealing with more space. Peeling off after is the tricky part.... Wrong so easy it peels off like rubber glue if there is anything lol. Just take your time going around the logos the dip will auto cut itself when peeling off the dip from the surrounding areas. Go to YouTube and watch the video on logos .

The metallic in the grey when it is done gives a flake in the sun witch matches so perfect with my paint black sand pearl. Next i might plasti dip the front grills and order shark fin and dip that same color. Lmk what yall think !! What did u accomplish, I can't tell much for the amount of work u put in. A good treatment with Ziano Brothers clay bar and wax system is a whole lot better.

What do you mean ?? The rims used to be chrome and the logos used to be chrome too..?? 50 dollars to change everything was not a waste in time or money. Its 200 to dip rims at a shop if you can find them that do dip.

They have more colors its a good way to change your rims for a great price and its easy to take off and holds up to 3 years they also have a clear coat to save paint life.

Looks like you really took your time; well done. Now clean up those tires and put some tire shine on them :).

Wow thats crazy man and yea i want to do my grill but need to figure how to remove the grills from the front !! But I was going to do my Toyota emblems tomorrow just to blend everything in. I orderd the kit 4 cans grey 1 can gloss and one smoke to play with only used 1 3/4s of grey on rims and logos and a half can of gloss . So i still have enough to dip my rims and logos one more time to perfect my dipping lol maybe in 6 months ..

I like the contrast of Grey on Black, but I'm not sure it would work on other color cars.

*sigh* do some homework. Plastidip is able to be removed. You just peel it off like a latex body paint for your car.

Why not just de-badge the car in the back? I can see color matching the fender badges since there are holes underneath, or even flat black for other colored cars, but I'm not following why plastidip on the logos in the back. That makes them stand out more than chrome to me, but I guess I'm used to seeing chrome emblems as opposed to flat-gray.

Wheels look good, emblems are cool too if that's your thing.
