My brother bought my 2006 Prius and has over 183k miles now. I put a vote for it.

Still on original brakes and battery pack. He is beating EPA figure in hilly Daly City / SF area.

A survey for each model year seems a bit excessive. What about ranges, like 2004-2006 ?

There's the influence of location too. Hotter environments typically equate to fewer years.

Maybe we have to group years...let's see how it goes...recently there were several posts suggesting 2006 was more probs, but I think it was conjecture and could just be more 2006 Prii sold.

Yes we could follow up on reasons for battery failure...I could think of three general reasons:
Possible factors leading to battery failure:
    (1) Hot climate
    (2) Battery overheat issues (eg; clogged fan etc)
    (3) Charge drained too low on Hybrid battery
    (4) Other

Agreed. A survey like this may struggle to get enough data points to be meaningful in any case, and restricting it to just one year is only going to make it more difficult.
