Would you buy this Prius?

    Hello folks, I need your opinion on a car that I am thinking of buying for my wife. We live in California.

    It is a 2008 certified pre owned standard Prius package #2 with 50,000 miles. Well maintained. Toyota online history and Carfax report is very good. All recalls has been taken care of.

    Haven't seen the car in person yet, just online. Dealer is located 1.5 hours drive from us. After a little bit of haggling online sales rep agreed to my offer of $15,500 Out The Door.

    Good deal or not? Thank you in advance.

    Better grab it while you can. Good Pri don't sit on the lots very long.

    FWIW, we paid more for a 09 with 8K less miles than the 08 you are talking about. And Cali should be more expensive than Texas...

    Skip it. Buy a 2010 Gen 3. You might be able to find one for the same price with the same odometer reading.

    We are planning to go see the car this Tuesday. I'm big on cosmetic stuff so if it looks as good it drives then we might take it. What the dealer doesn't know yet is I am trading my wife's car in. Hoping to get a decent trade in amount.

    Stop me now! If I'm making the wrong decision.

    Dealers don't give fair prices when trading in a car. Unless you in a hurry to get rid of the old car, you should try to sell it yourself if you want the best deal.

    Like I said earlier, good Pri do not sit on lots very long. If you want it, you better grab it before someone else does.

    If you must trade in, arrive at the bottom line price BEFORE you mention the trade in.

    <p>Bad news (maybe good) but the car just got sold. Oh well not meant to be. Kinda hard to shop around since we both work and have 2 kids. The search continues. Thank you all.</p>

    Well, If U R Willing To look SomWhere else(A Different State) U May Be Able To Get A Better Deal. I Got My '09 Touring With Every Single Option And 49K Miles Last February For That Exact Same Money But I HaD To Fly To Another State.

    Question about recalls:
    I checked a Prius VIN #, the water pump and steering shaft hasn't been fixed yet. Will it cost me any $ if I buy a car before getting it done by the seller?

    I will try local search for a little bit longer. Thanks for the tip.

    Check with your local dealer on the recalls. They started repairing those vehicles here in the states this year. I believe they also made repairs in Europe and elsewhere as early as late last year. I don't know what the time limit is on recall repairs done by the dealer, or if they even have time limits. Your local dealer can give you information on that.
