Oh, I get it. Instead of going with the Flo, the Flo is going or riding with you.

Dang, wires. It's just an add-on audio amp. Maybe it had a sub in the back that got removed.
I was going to offer to drill out the lock on the door of the box if I could have what was inside....

I still think it's a satellite receiver, maybe after market. My factory installed one is in about the same location but looks a bit different. The 3 wires on mine are the antenna lead, the power connection, and the audio and control wires to the rest of the audio system.

+1 to Tumbleweed's suggestion. OP: since you have a M II, sat radio would not have been OEM at that trim level.

Normally owners don't ever try to figure out where the DVD box is until they upgrade there map database. But here we have reverse. - where an owner discovers it and wonders what the heck it is - So yep ... asked and answered in numerous other threads. IE the search tool can be your friend
    ;)

that's because the advanced package updates differently from the DVD system, and thus, you don't need the box ... it may be the box is installed regardless whether they installed guts. But it is the DVD box.

That looks identical to the Toyota OEM Sat Radio Receiver that I put in a Scion a few years ago. A Google Image search using "toyota xm receiver oem" will show you a variety of similar boxes.
