Thanks, I just checked and my Prius C from Apr 2012 has software version 1.7.1! I find that Post 5 in this thread is slightly confusing:
Two different TSB #s are shown. I'm pretty sure it should say "Update software to version 2.2.0 per Service Bulletin T-SB-0051-13", right? T-SB-0026-12 is the old one for version 2.1.0. This is why another poster was confused and thought they should be getting an upgrade to version 2.3.0.

The newer bulletin always supersede older one

Okay that may be the case but why does the current TSB reference the older one? Also is there any place to obtain a copy of the TSB to show the dealer?

Update: Went to my local dealer in Toronto to get an oil change and this Entune update. Their tech said that the updates they had were for the navi system only and were not compatible with my model. The service manager was a bit more forgiving and asked him if he tried putting any of the USB keys in my car, and the tech said no. Looking at the USB keys, one of them had HBEKR in the middle of it but different numbers at the end. The service manager plugged that one in my car and it proceeded to update my software from 1.7.1 to 2.1.0. The update resolved some bluetooth connectivity issues I had with my iPhone 5 on iOS 7.0.2, and generic album artwork is also visible in bluetooth mode (e.g. "Pop" or "Alternative", depending on the ID3 tag I suspect). I also noticed that in the bluetooth settings, internet connection is no longer available which makes sense as I'm in Canada (there is no Bing or Pandora support here). So I wonder if this TSB is applicable to US only and if 2.1.0 is the latest one we can get in Canada? Have any Canadians out there gotten the 2.2.0 update?

If you just go in and ask the ticket writer for the Entune 2.2 update, they should be able to locate the FOB upgrade USB stick and perform the upgrade while you wait. It loads 6 files to the radio, then reboots and you are back out the door and heading home. Saved settings are still in place after the update.

My dealer refused to update my HU. Really pisses me off. The GPS isn't the most accurate either, I told them about it and they said "tough." Any way someone has the USB drive and can email me the files for me to load onto my own and update that way?

The 2.2.0 files were never released and are only available through the dealer. I'd suggest contacting Toyota and making a complaint - there's no reason the dealer should refuse to do this.

I will do this. Doubt it will get me anywhere but it'll make me feel better at least. Thanks Ftl

Is there another dealer you could go to? The only time I visited the dealer where I bought the car is when I picked it up; I use a closer one for service.

I bought the car from a dealer in another county close by, and I use one really close to my home for service. (They are owned by the same guy but aren't related to each other, go figure.) The one close by has normally been really good with service.. But after taking it to the dealer close by for both the glovebox rattle and the HU update it took them 6.5 hours to tell me they didn't do anything to the car.. I haven't had the time to go to the place I bought it from.

When the GPS tells you to "Turn Right" where there's 1.) No place to turn right and 2.) The Gulf of Mexico is literally the only thing to my right, you'd think that along with the TSB covering the Entune update would be enough.. Instead the rep makes a joke about how I must have received the HU from a Fiat 500 (in reference to the commercials of them driving through the ocean.. hardy har har) and after I patiently wait all day he comes back with a real attitude like I'm trying to screw them out of something..

Report the dealerships to Toyota and go to another.

Well I got a call from a "District Service Manager" today. He asked what TSB I was referencing in my complaint (the one you guys gave me for the HU update). I told him and he was very curious how I knew about the update.. I told him the truth, but that my HU was indeed giving me problems. (its not like I saw there was an update and I wanted it even though I wasn't having any issues). He said he had a tech look through some of the "tools" that Toyota sent them as they occasionally do, and how convenient! It just happened to arrive today. So hopefully I'll have the update on Saturday (I plan on going in to my dealership for the update then). That's the latest.

I'm (pleasantly) surprised Toyota is that on the ball about their complaint system.

Toyota head offices understand that many Toyota buyers are return buyers. It is too bad there are bad dealerships or at least poorly managed dealerships. The human factor cannot be equalled at all locations, but luckily most have good if not great customer service skills.

    Got it!

Boy when a head service fella is involved things are like they should be. Very nice and professional, and a free wash for my troubles. Hopefully now my GPS won't steer me in the wrong direction. Thank you guys for giving me the ammunition to get this problem taken care of. Couldn't have done it without you all.

Unfortunately, my saga continues: Went to another dealer for 25k and (hoped for) Entune update, as well as ticking glovebox (which has a TSB also). New dealer was much better, but they lost their USB stick in a customer's car and can't get another because Toyota says that there is another update coming out in January and they won't ship out til then. However, service manager looked at printout of both TSBs and said that we could get the glovebox taken care of and he'd order the part. Then, he gave me his card and told me to call in January to remind him that he said that he'd do the Entune update with the new USB. So far, this is a much better experience.

It'll be interesting to see what they fix on the next update. Since I got 2.2.0 my navigation screen freezes periodically then picks up down the road a minute or so later. And after adding a detour to a route it sometimes takes a similar time to go back to the map.

Well tomorrow I have an appointment at the same place. The guy had told me he would note that next time I come in that I would get the update. Geez, if the next nearest dealership wasn't 50 miles away I would go there to get my service. I will give them one last shot. I swear what should I say if they try to pull that I'm only eligible for the upgrade within so many miles of my car. I am at just 50k. It's a 2012 Prius Nav non-HDD. I want my 2.2.0. And a couple months isn't it 2.3.0? Argh

The TSBs apply even if the car is out of warranty.

It is like a factory recall. Doesn't matter how many miles are on the car.
