Another oopsey?!?! I guess we will have to rename it anthropogenic global cooling? Not a new study but I'm sure it's a well ignored study. LoL!
The first step is read the original source material: Solar Storm Dumps Gigawatts into Earth's Upper Atmosphere - NASA Science This is article is about coronal mass events having nothing to do with global warming: The 'shielding' is from the high quantities of infared and spectral energy associated with CME events, not ordinary sunlight. Ordinary global warming uses an entirely different mechanism. The solar light that is transparent to CO{2} simply passes to the earth where it is absorbed, heating the earth, sea, and waters. Part of that energy is re-radiated at longer wavelengths that are captured by green house gasses and re-radiated back to earth. That is what leads to further heating of the earth. Bob Wilson
So.. it appears the tax payer is funding one government agency with 2 departments (Langley/Goddard) working on the same thing coming up with totally differnet conclusions/theories. Typical, no communication problems there....
Or you might start with getting a personal copy of "Climate Change Science: A Modern Synthesis." Written for undergraduates taking a general science course, it has the basics. Bob Wilson
Wow, you really have had way too much bad Kool-Aid if you can't distinguish the 'energetic particles' that cause auroras from regular solar heat.
Well I'll be damned! Is this a "My Bad!" moment? In that case I admit my mistake or could it be a gotcha! Found original cite here. . . A misinterpreted claim about a NASA press release, CO2, solar flares, and the thermosphere is making the rounds | Watts Up With That? See how easy that is Fella's? LoL!
