has anyone tried Bosch 4 plugs? do you have to stick with factory recommended brand and type because of the type of coil? any help would be great with experience. I put the Bosch in my S-10 and it started better and more performance/mileage.

I have only used the correct NGK or Denso iridium plugs, which are intended for unusually long service life. I haven't noticed that anyone has been able to claim improved performance by using some other plug.

I recently purchased a G1 Prius that had an engine misfire. After finding Bosch spark plugs in it I proceeded to remove them and replace with worn out, used Denso iridiums (SK16R-11) from my bucket of plugs. Misfire never returned.

My advice: stick with SK16R-11 plugs.

For $20 every 100k miles, why would anyone want to experiment with other than the OEM?

Yeah, 50mpg for 120K miles. Why would you want to switch from the OEM plugs?

I 100% guarantee you will get no better performance than the stock irridium plugs. I don't care what anyone says, there is no better metal for spark plugs than irridium. Google it, read about it, wiki it.

I know people will argue and disagree with me (but that's ok) but, I am confident that 100k miles is a walk in the park for the OEM irridium plugs. I've seen several with over 100k that show virtually no wear.

Where do you buy the plugs for $5 each? Usually the price is more like $8 each.

I agree, the design service life is 120K miles.

Thanks guys you are great. I wen't on a truck sight with my Ford one time and all the responses were insults from Chevy guys. Toyota owners are much better. Buy the way it is my last american truck ever, I had to put a new motor in at 60,000 miles. Bob

I was just trying to make a point, whether the price is $5 or $8 and the service life is 100k or 120k miles, why would you try something different than OEM for something so inexpensive.
