Panamera Plugin, the faster Prius Plugin.

I'm looking forward to reading the PaP test results.

It was interesting seeing the Porsche Plug-in commercial. The only PiP commercial I ever saw around here was the Hum commercial showing the whole Prius family.

In defense of Toyota's advertizing strategy, how many people actually know that Porsche actually has hybrids.

    Close, but it's no Tesla.

(Was that the 'Back To The Future' tunnel? It looked familiar.)

For the price, I could get a Tesla S P85. And it is faster too.

Note, the Panamera is a 'four door coupe'.

I thought it is just an expensive Volt.

The non-hybrid arrived a year or two ago as Porsche's first 4 door car. It's on the same platform that the uber luxury VW Phateon was on. Don't call it a sedan though.

This press release states an EV range of over 20 miles on the NEDC. Expensive Accord PHV or Fusion Energi is probably a better descriptor.

    Awesome commercial.
I can't speak to the technical merits of this Panamera (though I envy a car that can do 0-60 in 5 sec, top out at 167 mph, and still get better mpg than I do  ), but this commercial was well thought-out.
It hits home with the target demographic, IMHO. I hope they play it during the Super Bowl.
We really need to raise awareness on what plug-ins are capable of, and this ad does just that.
The days of hybrid = Prius are truly over.

I kept my answer short, maybe I should have added I have three kids, hence the following cars were stricken from my wishlist: Volt/Ampera, most convertibles, all two-seater-second row MPV's (like a collegues 12 year old Avensis Verso I would happily buy if it had 7 instead of 6 seats), Panamera, BMW GT5, etc.

The (quite serious and well thought through) plan was not to increase the worlds population any further, but we failed...

I see 4 doors, it is a sedan. Marketing creates new terms so that they do not freak out their customers. I wonder what name they called their SUV? Raised Coupe?

I called it an expensive Volt because of the 4 seat. Not because of the range.

I think SUV was cool enough at the time of release.
Volt is 4 seat because of the battery. It gives up the fifth one for EV range. The Panamera is 4 seat because the non-hybrid is 4 seat. I guess 5 seats would be too sedanish.;) Batteries aren't being crammed it there, or it wouldn't possibly end up with a PPI range after EPA testing.
I hadn't even realized it was 4 seats at first. In light of that and the optional kid seats for the S, you could say the Tesla has nearly double the passenger capacity.

    Hence my:

    :D
Normally you are must faster Trollbait...

Obviously I understand the seats in the back of a Panamera will be 'more cozy' (understatement...) than the third row Model S, but still...

But it will never be a Porsche!

Not, that I like the Panamera. There are a few near where I work and I'm really not a fan of it
