GEN III Prius having boiling & beeping sound from front engine

    Dear all Prius's owner ..

    I bought Prius car on Jan 2011. This year May 2013 I have been experienced this boiling sound for my Prius car. I been sent there for diagnose but toyota seems want to get rid of this

    This is answer they given for my issue..
    1. Boiling sound and beeping sound when driving.
    The sound which the Complainant had experienced originates from the vehicle’s cooling system. The said sound is produced by the cooling system’s coolant which circulates through the engine. This is a characteristic of the vehicle and there are no abnormalities with the vehicle’s engine.

    I have tried my friend Prius car and their service center demo car as well. I didn't heard this abnormal sound produce.

    Is there anything wrong with my car?

    I'm not sure what a boiling sound is. Have you had another Gen III Prius owner drive the car and comment on the sound(s)?

    My 2001 Ford F-150 did this everytime the engine was turned off. I figured it was a high pressure bypass valve to allow the pressure to bleed off rather than have a cooling system under pressure. I cant say if my 2012 Prius does it as I am so used to sounds and noises, I dont pay attention to it.

    i've never noticed a boiling sound whilst driving, except my blood pressure. try another dealer?

    By a boiling sound, could this be the same sound as air bubbles in the coolant? Have you had the engine coolant replaced any time recently? If so someone may not have bled the air properly.

    Yes, Toyota already open case for me and investigate about this sound and they finalize this boiling sound is characteristic of vehicle. I actually requesting them to have another GEN III to make comparison, until now they didn't reply my email yet ?

    Yes, my friend has one. And i monitor his car for few months,his one seems like OK, don't have this kind of boiling sound.

    You mean the dealership "finalized" the findings?... I mean contacting Toyota Corporate and have them open a case because the dealership (as it seems to me) is giving you a line of BS. This sound from what I can tell (not actually have heard it) is not characteristic.
    As also mentioned, try another dealership if you are able.

    Actually,4 times i went Toyota service center, they keeps said nothing wrong with this sound and they said their test drive demo car having this sound as well, but then they unable to prove me more details on this, even though i request for video capturing for the boiling of the said car.

    you need to find a friend or someone else who can hear the noise and help point it out to the service manager on a test drive.

    I know that sound. After a drive and the car is parked I hear also that sound. No problem. It has to do with the cooling down. I noticed it this summer and since then I drive more than 10.000 km.
