Is the Four wheel compatible with the v Five wheel?

Cover including actuators is visually similar; the back story may differ.

I bought the steering wheel from this seller, he includes a picture of the steering wheel that he is selling . All the parts of the steering wheel is still on the steering wheel minus the airbag. He never mentioned that all you will be getting is just the bare steering wheel. He advertised it as leather steering wheel for sale. I get the leather steering wheel in the mail and it is just a bare steering wheel, he took everything off of the steering wheel to use on his new one . And he tells me if you are not happy with the transaction, go sell it to some one else.
Do not buy from this guy.

And the seller was scammy enough to */delete/* the original offer. Nice.

sounds like seller should have provided better description and buyer should have asked additional questions.
Fair thing to do would be to have buyer return wheel at their cost and seller should do a full refund including the original shipping once wheel is returned.

Steering wheels never come with an airbag, why the buyer assumed it would is beyond me.

This is not fair. I did not delete the ad with the mindset that I was duping the buyer. In fact, I highly regret it now, as it would have made my point. Notice that the buyer also updated his posts with the word "sold", just as I did. Does that make him "scammy"? What was the buyer trying to hide?

The ad was a two-liner, as you recall, since you saw it and asked whether it was compatible with v Five model. Perhaps you are in the best position to remind everything what the ad actually said. From memory, what I wrote was OEM "SofTex" leather wrapped steering wheel from a 2013 Prius is excellent condition, or something to that effect, with the asking price, which was 150 plus shipping. Nothing more, nothing less. I specifically DID NOT mention that I was going to include my airbag or steering wheel controls, or anything else for that matter. Any rational person would ask first before buying, but of course I was stupid enough to believe that a member of PriusChat was savy enough to know better and may have in fact read all the threads about aftermarket steering wheels before purchasing.

The buyer still got the wheel, and of course he can easily use his own parts to make the swap. He is just being lazy and is creating problems where none should exist. In fact, I believe him to be a scammy buyer! Seller beware!

I refer everyone to this thread, where the actual picture used in the ad is visible for all to see. The airbag was still on the wheel, but the buyer now states "minus the airbag", as referenced above. This was his private message response to me when he received the item:

"got the bare steering wheel today , but it sure does not include everything else that was on the steering wheel that you had pictured on your posting. I was expecting all the parts that was pictured, but it looks like you purchased another new steering wheel and removed everything off this one to use on that one. Not sure what to do with it as I really don't want to deal with swapping everything out on my current one to this one."

First the buyer wants everything in the picture (does he want my radio too?), but now he states "minus airbag". So it seems he's changing his story to now only wanting my steering wheel controls, to which I say don't be lazy and use your own. If my eight year old son can unscrew a few bolts, so can the buyer.

I offered the buyer the opportunity to return the item to me for a refund minus my shipping cost, which I believe to be fair. He refused and has escalated this to a Paypal dispute, which is unfortunate. Will provide updates after Paypal resolution.

So, what you see (listed) is (not) what you get?

Title clearly states steering wheel. Should he have also said that the dash and radio (visible in his original picture) were not included?

    IDK.
I know the difference between a steering wheel, and a steering wheel assembly including trim, switches and airbag.
At the very least, a person should ask questions prior to purchase.
I see many listings similar to that on eBay.
In small print, within the text, you'll see "airbag not included", but the main listing states "Prius steering wheel".

I can fault the seller for not adding that proviso, but, common sense should be more common, and assumptions made engaging in online/Internet sales can lead to an unhappy situation.

I think that the seller offers a fair solution, so long as the costs withheld are substantiated via documentation.

    Caveat Emptor..... Caveat Vendit.....

    Lesson learned on both sides....
