I installed Weathertech for front windows on my 2010 Prius II last week. Passenger door window auto up works fine. I cannot get the drivers side to go all the way up without slamming against the auto up - I believe the deflector is hitting the window in the channel. If I milk it up and put the visor OUT above the open window and slowly roll the window up 1/4" at a time, I can get it to roll up. Once I get past there the deflector is in the window channel, the window, or course, rolls up. I am about to return them. I had these inchannel Weathertechs on my Camry for 18 years - even had to buy a second because the first set wore out. I love them...but when the windows won't roll up because it hits/detects the deflector - not so good. Any tips - I've had them in a week and left them in well over 12 hours before rolling the window up or down.

Give the Weathertech deflectors time to "settle in" the window channel. I had an issue with the windows not going up in auto for about two weeks. I had to close them manually. After the two week period I have been able to close all of the windows in auto mode with no further issues.

I had same problem than stated here in my GenII, I give up and trash them. Replaced for an stylish over the door frame ones, now I installed similar on my PiP.

Do you recommend any particular brand? What are you using? I have to return these inchannel in the next 3 days or I have to keep them. I've tried to let them settle in - but after a week, I'd think they would be about settled in. I've seen several brands of the tape on kind and never wanted to put tape on my car...but am about to do it with the wind/rain reflectors. I want to make sure I get ones that don't fall off with time. Any suggestions?

Thank you for going to that much trouble. They look good to me. Did I miss it or did you indicate what brand they are? Again, thank you!

Im about to order the WeatherTech set, I would like to know if there safe for window tint?
I would have order the 3m stick on set, but my Prius is Pearl White and they look like eye sore on white. Atleast the pair I saw the other day.

I had Weather Techs on my 1994 Camry for 20 years. Wore the first set out and had to get a second set. They are wonderful - but they do stretch the window channel and the window rattles around in the channel unless I put the Weather Tech deflector back in. With the deflector in I have no water or wind leaks. I love them as living in the south of the USA, it gets very hot summer time and I can let the hot air out of my car without suffering the intermittent and sudden rain showers wetting the interior of my car. However, I am finding they do not work for my Prius as they did for the Camry. After two weeks the passenger window deflector fits fine, the drivers window - nope - hits the auto detect and rolls right back down. I can nurse it up using a hand and pushing out on the deflector - but that isn't what I want to do. I am also a little concerned about the stretching of the window channel as it did the Camry. I thought about using only the passenger deflector as the point is to be able to leave the window down a little to let hot air escape. Maybe having the one is sufficient for that purpose.

They were safe for my Camry's after market window tint. After my experience with them - with my Camry they fit wonderful and I loved them but not so on the Prius - passenger window fits fine, driver's window - not. I saw a video of someone showing what he claimed was the excessive length by a couple mm of the deflector for the Prius that caused it to hit the auto up. It seems to be a mixed bag as to Prius owners' experience with WeatherTechs. My best advice, buy from someone you can return them to if they don't work for you.

I have window tint on mine and have no problem.

I personally prefer the in- channel type to the outside stick-on type. The Weathertech are a tight fit but to me that is what you want. I had no problem installing in the front windows. I had to watch an online video to understand how to fit the clip in the rear window channels.

I had an issue with the auto-up feature and just had to use the manual up for the first couple of weeks. Now that the visor channels have settled in the window channel the auto-up works fine on all windows. The in-channel type look OEM and I am very satisfied with them now.

Got them today, front fits perfect. Auto feature works too. Know those rear, what were they thinking? I'm off to find the video.

In my Prius experience, the front Weathertechs work great when installed following instructions. The rear ones worked for four months, then just fell out. Because the front Weathertechs extend all the way to the bottom of the front window, they tend to stay installed becaus their three-point tension keeps them in place. The rear Weathertechs fall eventually out (clips or no clips) because the rear Prius window is smaller (shorter) across the top than across the bottom, i.e. it tapers to the top. Hence, the rear Weathertechs aren't held in by anything other than their 2-sided tape when the window is cracked or lowered.

Pros: great way to cool the parked car with a crossflow of air without worrying about rain. Front Weathertechs also deflect wind well while driving with the windows open. They got rid of the OEM Prius interior buffeting wind noise in the cabin when driving with both left-side windows down.

Cons: due to the rear window design, eventually the rear Weathertechs let go of their grip and fall out.

My compromise: once the rear Weathertechs fell out late this Summer while rolling (and the car rolled over and broke one of them), I junked the rear ones and kept the front ones. Yes, it looks weird at first with just the front ones mounted, but hey - it is functional and works for me.

Did you happen to watch the video on the Weathertech website on how to install them? I did not like the way the rear window clips were installed according to the instructions that came with the deflectors. There was a recommendation to view the video before installing.

I watched the video and was interpreting the instructions incorrectly. When the clips are installed correctly I doubt they will fall out without the window channel falling out with it.

After spending a hour on just one clip, I ditch the clips and used full double sided tape. Let's see how long this works out. I probably tackle the clips this week or next. I rarely have the rear down due to i have a sunroof.
I'm thinking of white pin stripping the edged of them for a added look.

I watched the video and followed the instructions exactly. The installation worked well for about three months. After three months, the rear Weathertechs just fell out when igot into the car after work and lowered both left windows as I backed out. The double-sided tape just gave out and then there was nothing to hold them in (up) since there is no side tension due to the upward-tapering shape of the opening. I still happen to have the clips in the window weather seal channels to this day.

Looking carefully at the geometry of the rear Prius window shape, in retrospect I'm not surprised at all. Had my car not driven over one of the fallen-out Weathertechs, I would have considered jerry-rigging some sort of a drilled-hole-with-stainless-steel-wire permanent mounting method to keep the rear deflectors up in there. Since one was already crushed by the car's wheel, I just threw both rear Weathertechs into the trash.

After reading your post I checked my rear windows. I guess now I am confused as to how your deflectors fell out with the clips still in place. Mine have two clips, one toward the front and one toward the rear. These clips have a curved part that protrudes under the curved part of the deflector that helps hold the deflector in place. They are not depending just on the double-sided tape to keep them in place.

Well the clips and the tape hold the rear deflectors in place until they don't. For me, the rear ones lasted three months. The front ones are still there, solid.

If the rear window on the Prius was equal in width across the top as it is across the bottom, then I think the rear Weathertech deflectors would have more of a chance to stay in there.

Let's also remember that it is usual to have both left windows open on the road in nice weather. that way, air enters through the front window and exits through the rear window. With the front Weathertech extending all the way down along the leading window edge to the bottom of the window, there is a natural vertical support pillar holding the deflector up in its rain channel groove. With the rear Weathertechs, lacking such a support pillar and also not being held in place by the geometry of the window opening (top is narrower than bottom), I think the open window wind buffeting of the air exiting the car had something to do with loosening the deflector over time. In my case, the left rear one started falling out before the right rear one did, again & again until they both just couldn't stay in.
