(Wow! I've been a fan since they first hit PBS in the USA back in the 70s.
Saw them live at City Center in NYC. Met "the guys" (and gal) at the stage door. At that time Graham Chapman had said that their next project was to be "The Life of Christ". Guess we know where that went...
I've had the pleasure of meeting Carol Cleveland again on many occasions over the last 15 years. Still very funny, sweet and gracious...)

 

Also saw them at City Center, with a bunch of friends - still have the poster.

I'm jealous that you know Carol Cleveland - the only time I got to hang out with the Pythons was for a short time in the staff bar at Television Centre after one of the recordings. Oh, and I visited Eric Idle in his dressing room (courtesy of a mutual friend) after the "Greedy Bastard Tour" show in NYC in 2003 - couldn't chat with him too long, as Mike Nichols was there discussing a new project - "Spamalot". That worked out well!

Off topic for this thread, but much more fun!

 

Mutual jealousy... Would have loved to have spent more time with the group. Chapman was very different from his characters - very easy going and kind.
Only standoffish member was Terry Gilliam. I'm guessing because, previously, he was more of a background player. On stage he was a bit more prominent. Maybe not used to the attention.

(Again, OT, but, as you said, more interesting than the thread has become)

 

Buyer was trying to get something for nothing. Or was an idiot. Did they ask exactly what was & was not included before pulling the trigger? Yeah I thought not.
