if anyone does use entune, note that it's broken on Android 4.4/Kit Kat devices (the new Nexus devices, and updated Moto X devices). The app just crashes on startup.

Just got KitKat on my Moto X as well. Haven't tried Entune yet though. Will report back when I have.

    Toyota's response (slow):

We apologize for the concern with the Entune app while using Android 4.4
We have just learned that some customers are experiencing a concern with Entune after updating their cell phone’s operating system to Android 4.4 (KitKat). We hope to launch an an updated version of Entune that will be compatible with Android 4.4 (KitKat) in approximately three to four weeks.
We appreciate your patience during this timeframe.

That's lame beyond belief. Toyota should have testers whose only job is to get the developer package for each new version of iOS and Android and test the app before release of the updated OS to users.

As is obvious from the poor integration of smartphones into the car's systems, Toyota is years behind the market in this area.

To be fair, Toyota probably thought they had more time. I don't think anyone thought that KitKat would arrive as early as it did on all of the Moto X's.

Yeah, but "three to four weeks" to fix it? They "hope".

    A developer fixed it!!!

Search for "entune kitkat" in Google and download xposed entune fix for kitkat from the Play store.

You need root and to install xposed framework, but well worth it!

Rather than install an app from a developer that does who only knows what, it's probably better to download the official update to the Entune app from Toyota. It's available on the Play Store as of today. It fixes the crash issue but there's apparently still a known bug with IHeartRadio and Kit Kat that Toyota chose not to fix this time per the release notes.
