'06 Suddenly Burning Oil... Lots...

    How about taking out the spark plugs and squirting something, some sort of solvent, let it sit, work it's way down?

    As long as it is designed specifically for that purpose, used per the directions. Some lubrication of the cylinder is necessary at all times. you also need to make sure there are no accumulations of liquid left over when you start the engine to avoid hydrolock and potential damage. Perhaps something like GM Top Engine Cleaner.
