If you do manage to install a CB, please post images of your setup.

I am aware that CB is not the same as Amateur Radio, but the antenna and equipment install are similar, hence for the OP's question that search will more than likely help.

I installed a Yaesu 2m/440 after I first purchased the car in 2012. Couldn't bring myself to drill a roof hole in a brand new vehicle so I used lip mounts for my antennas on the side edge of the hatch. One for the 2m/440 antenna and one for my scanner. Cables are run through the roof, through the rubber to the hatch door and the antenna cable runs through the hollow hatch to the antenna locations on the side of the hatch. Bit of a pain but no exposed coax except from the door lip to the antenna base.
The control head is mounted above the rearview mirror with a specialized bracket (can't remember the name..try google?) the actual radio is mounted under a motorola speaker on top of the rear deck. Bolts hold both items clamped to the deck with disconects so that I can still remove the deck if necessary. I had some pics and I'll post them when I can (as soon as I find them). The microphone is run down the 'A' pillar (careful with the air bag)and across to the console.

As soon as I can find the ones I already took or as soon as I can take some more I'll post them. I did remember the name of the mount for the control head on the mirror that I mentioned before. It's called a "Blend Mount". www.blendmount.com/

I didn't find any of my previous pictures so I snapped a few when I got to work this morning... I find that the control head is very visible though a little bit of a reach but you don't have to take your eyes off the road to adjust anything and most of the functions are remotely controlled from the microphone anyway which is convenient at the console. I wired it there primarily to make the installation a bit less visible from the outside...no mic and cord hanging down from the mirror area. I used 12v power plugs so the radio and speaker can be disconnected on those rare times I need to remove the rear shelf.
