Possible to get 3-way smart key with cloth seats in Prius v

    I have a Prius 2005 in which the smart key, while in your pocket/purse, allows you to open the driver/front passenger/hatch by just opening them. Prius 2005 has been irretrievably hurt in an accident :(. Do not like flying buttress console in Prius Gen III (I am small and short and it is large and tall). Therefore, am looking at Prius v, model 2 or 3, because I want cloth seats. However, I really would like the same smart key system (can open 2 front doors and hatch without removing key from pocket/purse) as I had. It seems there is no way for these two things to exist together in the Prius v (3-door smart key and cloth seats). Am I correct? Thank you!

    I have a v 3. My impression is, with the car all locked up, I go to the drivers door and it unlocks. No action on my part other than to have the fob in my pocket. If I'm coming at the trunk with a load of groceries, I reach in my pocket and press the key fob (and by a few weeks know just where the button was) and all doors unlock.

    It may be that I or my dealer have selected the one door proximity as an option. Perhaps someone else with a v3 or 2 can add their experience.

    You are correct. The 3-door smart key system is only available in the 5 trim with softex. But softex is great stuff.

    There is a simple setup option that opens all the doors when you smartkey the driver's door...
