I really want to keep my 2008 Touring Prius for a long, long time. I was approaching 90,000 miles in just over 5 and a half years. Other than the recall work, a new 12 volt battery and front shocks I have had no real problems with the car.
I searched and researched both on PriusChat and elsewhere in cyberspace for preventive maintenance items that would extend my car's longevity. I settled on this list:
    • Oil Change (Customer Supplied Oil)
    • Oil Filter Change
    • Air Filter Change
    • Drain and Replace Transmission Fluid
    • Drain and Replace Inverter Coolant
    • Drain and Replace Engine Coolant
    • Replace Spark Plugs
    • Throttle Body Cleaning
    • Drive Belt Replacement
I wanted this important work done by a certified Toyota technician. So I shopped around at my local Dealers. I found a wide range of prices for these same services.
The best price by far was at Norwalk Toyota. They performed all of the items along with the usual checking, adjusting, and measuring that are included in the 90,000 mile service. They also included a great car wash (practically a detail job).
All of this - out the door for $689.06. I know that I could have done some of this myself, and some of this was done earlier/later than the Toyota recommended mileage - but I am very pleased with the price and the service.

I considered the brake fluid replacement, but I felt it could wait - probably until I have some actual brake work done.

    Yes, it could.

I suggest you add PCV valve replacement to your next list, say at 120K miles.

It's odd - the PCV Valve replacement was on my list, but none of the dealers thought that it was necessary.

Is throttle body cleaning or drive belt replacement recommended at 120K miles. I have looked in the manual, but did not find anything about them.

The maintenance manual suggests inspection of the serpentine drive belt starting at 60K miles. Certainly at 120K miles, the belt will contain numerous cracks and it definitely needs to be replaced at that point, if not sooner.

I do not believe that throttle body cleaning is listed as a maintenance item. However, the Classic is particularly sensitive to this as a dirty throttle body will lead to engine no-start, DTC P3191. 2G is less sensitive but it is still a good idea to have the throttle body interior and throttle plate cleaned, say at 60K or 90K mile intervals.
