    History
Bought the prius, with a bad traction battery. Drove it home just fine. Pulled the traction battery out, and started checking cells, found a bad one etc etc. After a month and being short 10 cells on my Gen III build, my wife decided to go new. I figure I can always sell of the good cells since they are in such good shape, or do a local rebuild or something. I got a brand new traction battery from Toyota, uncrated it yesterday, spent a couple hours swapping across the relay, control etc.

I put the HV battery in, and NO JOY.

first, the dang 12V was deader than dead. I put it on a charger I am hoping that winter has just killed it or something. I tried to boost start the car, but that doesn't seem to work.

With the key in ACC the display comes up, things look ok. If I turn it to RUN the display gets dark and I can barely read it, or it gets flashy. if I turn it to start it goes completely blank.

I wonder if I messed something up ? I did not do anything to the cells on the HV battery, I assumed it would ship ready to go ? I hooked up everything like before (I hope).

    Ideas ?

I don't know much about swapping out a battery. What I do know is that you have to latch the orange latch and it's harder than you think it is.
That has stumped many people in the past.

Thanks, looks like it just needed more charge. It fired right up after I gave it more time.

Oh that's great. Sorry for the short and ambiguous answer. I was in the airport waiting for a flight and using my phone. Trying to research where I'd seen people post about reinstalling a pack would have been a nightmare. My hope was that bumping the thread might bring it to the attention of someone with more skills.

Glad you got it up and running!
