Owners cry about it, but it might save your butt one day while backing up in a parking lot. These cars don't have the greatest visibility threw the rear windows, and large blind spots.
I have noticed several times while walking in parking ramps that I can't hear regular gasser cars driving slowly. Big Gov should make those car's make the George Jetson noise Mike
I think the noisemaker is worthless. People still walk out in front of my car just like they do when I drive my SUV downtown. No difference. It seems like the noisemaker was just some thing to keep our big Gov happy for the time being. Mike
I do think that the noisemaker is worthless as well, BUT a 'galloping horse' sound, now that's the real solution!
Somebody needs to figure a hack to either program the stock one with a different sound or whip up a homebrew noise maker that will sound cool or scare the living hell out of someone Mike
That's an easy one. You tap into the (+) wire for one of the backup lights and connect a ground to anywhere. You run a two conductor wire from them down to just inside the rear bumper cover. Screw in any aftermarket backup beeper and now it works with the reverse lights.
People are just plain unaware of their surroundings. I use to pull up behind guys at work with my TDI and they didn't know I was there.
