'Freedom of speech' is right you have with your government. You have no such contract with individuals, unless you write one.

So far as I know, Danny is the sole owner and final arbitrator of what is Prius Chat, and what stays on PriusChat.com A Private Message to him may be the best way to understand what occurred.

:) a little bit overboard topic title haha.

i was wondering if PC was contraced with facebook to collect data from users in return for money.

freedom of speech is everywhere you go where ever you go.
    anything else is a dictatorschip.

if i come into your home i can say anything i like and you can say anything you like thats freedom of speech

i wil open the topic again and see if it was just a server down problem

Again, dictatorship is usually in reference to a type of government. Most businesses and families are dictatorships everyday, as is this web site. Danny is the sole judge of what his money puts on the web. We are his guests.

This may be one reason you do not get re-invited to people's homes.

:ROFLMAO: I busted out laughing when I read that!!!

Dutchman, maybe your post was lost in the server issues or maybe not.

Truth is, the owner of the site (Danny) can allow/disallow anything he dang well pleases. You do not have the right to come onto a privately owned website/forum and post just anything. Spammers have freedom of speech too, do they not? Yet their posts get deleted and they have no recourse.

In the U.S., freedom of speech generally applies to public property and to your own property. If you come into my home, I can set rules on what you say, and can eject you if I don't like what you say. If you refuse and resist, at some point I can even use force to eject you.

If you don't like it, you can set up your own WhatEverChat Forum or other press with your own money.

That said, PC has been having various server problems for some time.

    Really?
Try going to the Presidents home (The White House) and tell him you think he's a (insert 4 or 5 four letter words here) and see where your freedom of speech ideal lands you....

I'll be amazed if a thread about IM clients was purposely deleted.

Tangentially, I feel like mentioning that the only thing that annoys me more than Facebook is Twitter.

:confused:Not necessarily a unfair question posted by a senior member with over four thousand post. Based on the replies, I wouldn't push the issue.

I also thought it was a fair question by the OP and do not understand the bashing. I fully understand that this is Danny's site and if you do not like it you can move on.

From my experience over the years I am not aware of Danny doing much of the deleting of threads, not intentionally anyway. If he has I am not aware of him acknowledging this.

If it is ever acknowledged it has usually been a moderator. IMHO I would think that if a thread is deleted that the moderators, or Danny, should at least contact the thread owner and let them know what caused the deletion so that they will know what to do, or not do, in the future. It would also be nice for the membership to understand where the acceptance or reject lines are.

The President's home isn't the The White House, it's in Chicago.
You remember....that land deal that nobody talks about?
He will reside in DC for another few years until Hillary moves back in, but I don't think the ownership of The White House will change with its occupancy.
You can steal the china, but it's still OUR house.
    :)

That's a crock, and besides....there's no GOD given, Constitutionally protected right to be heard.
Post instructions on how to make explosives in your kitchen, and then tell me how the whole freedom of expression thing is working for you.

Side Note. English may not be your primary language which would make you a lot smarter than me, since it's mostly my ONLY language.
Having said all of that, you should consider capitalization. :)

The OP is welcome to say anything he likes.
However, that doesn't mean that an owner of a bullhorn is forced to give it to him.

It's all about balance. Maybe Danny is in league with Facebook and wants to protect a possible interest, but I balance that with the benefits of this free forum. I'm sure a number of things discussed on here have found there way to getting issues solved. Maybe someone from Toyota perhaps?

But Bob is right, if it really worries you, you could always withhold your payment :)

This is ridiculous. There have been many, many far more contentious issues discussed openly here over the years.

It seems more rational to assume there was a computer glitch, instead of some grand conspiracy.

The fact a long time member would even create a thread with the title "Freedom of Speech on PC" because some thread that was really about 'nothing' wasn't showing up is shocking to me quite frankly. Seriously to me, the post I read after you remade it, makes no sense probably because I am not familiar with those programs and I hate FB, Twitter etc. You really think we'd gun to get rid of a thread like that though?!

Anyway, Danny basically does back end stuff, software and server issues. We, the Mods, do most if not all of the thread merging, deleting, moving etc. To think PC is in cahoots with FB and that's a reason the thread is gone is nuts. To think we'd get rid of a thread like that, for whatever reason, seriously? It's been said by people at the beginning of this thread as well in other forums PC has been having server issues for a while now affecting a lot of functions and they would be correct.

Sorry your post apparently ended up in the never because of server issues but handling it with a thread titled like this, again to me, was a bit unnecessary. You know who we are at this point, you could have asked us or just simply reposted it. Is asking for a little more 'faith' in the Admin and Mods of this site too much to ask?

Now I, not Danny, will close this thread as I can see it getting even worse in here if this is left to continue.
