A pint is not much. What probably happened was they didn't get all the air out when they replaced the pump. Over time, the air was purged and replace with reservoir fluid. I would say just keep an eye on the fluid level. If you don't see any more fluid loss, you should be ok.

Thanks, actually plan to change it in next week, have only owned car two days. Old coolant is brown. Was topping off to get by.
Also want to change trans coolant, seems a little harder to do ,but I think I can do it.
How many miles on your 2005?

If you were simply topping off, you could have added some distilled water, it's a waste of expensive coolant to top off and then replace. Coolant should not be brown, unless it's the wrong fluid....like Dexcool from GM

Not going to let a pint of coolant I used bother me,
Glad to know water is a option.

Just came back from a 580 mile 3 day weekend road trip.
It was my first trip out of town since buying the car a month ago.
All seems to be great, no real issue of oil usage, I would say it dropped 1/8th of an inch from full mark after 580 miles. I am using synthetic oil, just as the previous owner did. Coolant level stayed the same for the ICE.
I would say 90% of trip was highway , got around 50 mpg.
    Car ran strong, no hesitations.

You just love your Prius dont you? :D I can tell, and I really enjoy your energy on the boards and excitement you have when you post.

Sounds like you got a real good one and with the way you take care of it, you will get a lot more miles out of her (y)

Thanks PriusGuy, I do like the car a lot .
I too am hoping it will be a great car for me for many years to come.
I wish there was a safe modification to make the seat go back one more click.
Have not looked into it , but I am guessing seat back does not recline back???
