I would definitely ride my bike if I didn't work on the Port of New Orleans.

Maybe not a big deal, but your first few miles on a Prius , you don't get that great of mileage .
Then you would be at work. But would be great for weekend trips or longer trips around town. So would you keep the car you buy more than 5 years?

I'd like to say I would, but at that point it would be really old.

I want to save you from buying this car and driving it 2 miles 1 way daily. I think you would be better off getting a regular 4 cylinder car and not a hybrid that's nearing 10 years old with 127k miles on it. The way you are going to drive the Prius, it won't save you any money at the pump.

Older Corolla might work, good on gas , not as cool as a Prius.

Was wondering, do the Gen 3 do any better with mpg during warm up period?
Also in the latest Prius cars, are the Toyota Dealers still saying the Transaxle/inverter World Standard ATF is good for a lifetime?

Good for you, they are awesome cars. Five years ago I briefly owned the first gen Prius 2002.
It was great, kept it 5 months, felt like that Gen , they were still working out bugs.
I sold it for what I had in it.
    Good Luck!

Gen 2 Prius is one of the most reliable cars on the road today. It holds a high resale value compared to other economy cars.
I passed on a $500 95' corolla recently and waited for a cheap used gen 2 Prius.
The hv battery is cheaper than doing a transmission in a conventional car.
