    Hello people,

I have a question on my 2010, my Avg MPG reading is around 47mpg, however my aveg mph reading is only 18. It seems to float around this number, not going up or down much. This car is driven on streets often but how can I avg only 18mph for so long? Even if I drive 30 miles on the highway, it would still have a similar reading. Any clues?

Where are you reading aveg mph?

If it is one of the Trip data try resetting.

i am always surprised how low avg mph seems, but 18 is really low. i think it's time divided by miles, so includes time stopped at lites and etc.

You have to ignore the fuzzy screen, I have one of those early 2010's that never got fixed under warranty. Thanks Bisco, I guess I spend a lot of time stopped at a light

Not to worry - It's just the math. any time you stop your're dragging the mph way down.

I'd have a headache if I had to look at that screen all the time (n)

I don't drive this car much, but even if I do, I rarely look at that screen. The odometer is clear and not distorted.

One day I'll take it apart and clean it.

I've noticed mine doesn't change by very much, up or down. Does it calculated trip to trip, when trip meters are zeroed, whenever the tank is refilled?

It zeros when you reset that particular trip. It's just an average for the trip. Trip A and Trip B can be set independently.

I figured that out when it comes to the avg mpg but does it do that also with the avg mph readout to the far bottom left?

I don't have any mph display on the bottom left, only on the lower right of the trip display.

The Average MPH resets with a Trip A or Trip B reset. Low MPH (like mine) is just letting you know how crappy a commute you have. :D It is calculating miles/time, including when the car is not moving.
