Thanks. What mode were you in? Normal, Eco ? Someone mentioned on here that Torque would record data for such things as 0-60 performance. Do you know whether it will?

It made me think that I remember something about SGII will do this also. Checked it when I got home and sure enough it will record speed, time, distance and one custom parameter every 0.4 seconds. So, duh, I will record another trial tomorrow.

Now we are finally getting some before performance data to compare against after data.

Normal, ECO and PWR are all the same at WOT.

That is what they say . I was a little surprised at the difference between his results and mine and wanted to be sure.

I have never tested the different modes at WOT, have you?

I got my recall done a week ago and my fuel economy is tremendously better now. Before, I was getting about 49-51 mpg. After, I'm getting 55-56 mpg. The pulse and glide driving approach works much better now, as well.

Is this via manually calculated mpg, or from the optimistic ecu?

I was in "Performance" mode. 0-60 was about 1 second more then when I tested last week.

Torque does record 0-60 and stores your "best". For the electrical info it was on demand..I will have to mess with the app some more to see if I can have it do a "best" feature for those two fields also since it was difficult driving 0-60 and then trying to look at the app the instant I hit 60ish.

I understand the difficulty. It is nice to know that SGII can store the data for me so I will not have to try to watch the display.

Torque may do the same but I have had limited time to play with it. I will fool around with it some more since it has so many options and customizations.

Every other monitor other than the Emissions widget and O2 widgets recorded max values so it may just be a setting or choice in there.

What mode was the car in? Eco, Normal ?

It is difficult driving 0-60 and trying to watch display. It will be nice tomorrow knowing SGII can record data so I can just drive.

My 2014 has Eco, EV, Power, and Normal (or nothing selected) modes.

What mode did you have selected while doing the 0-60 test?

    "Power"

Intersetingly enough..the highest HP I have gotten so far out of the 5-6 test runs is 104.X HP @ 43XX RPM

That is interesting that you only see 104HP when the hybrid rating is 134HP. The ICE is rated 98HP@5200 RPM.

If you can record SOC that would be helpful in knowing the battery state during the run. That would determine the MG2 contribution to the total HP.

Will do. Easier to test in morning when most people are still in bed. Found that I originally chose live dials online. I found live dials with stored maximums. That should make it safer and easier to get the data. I set up Soc min and max dials too.

Good deal. I leave early in the morning also and when I can do testing.

Out-of-the-blue last night, my wife made the observation that she liked the car's behaviour post-update, it seems to go into stealth mode easier, and stay their longer. We weren't even talking cars, this was completely uncoached, lol.

I'd been getting the same sense, but coming from my wife, who's definitely not as obsessive as me, I'm thinking it must be. I've not noticed the battery charge bottoming out more either. All-in-all, the car feels good, solid, I like what they've done so far.

The in-dash liters per 100 km is at 4.4 right now, half a tank in. Calculated I'd guestimate at 4.7. It's been roughly 50/50 driving duty between my wife and me. A mix, some short trip, a fair number of 60 km round trip runs into town. For this time year (arguably getting milder) that's pretty good.

For anyone recording 0-60 time, is this before or after the system has completed a full warm up and is the battery at a high SOC? I've seen whp figures for Gen III from dyno tests around 108-118 hp. I imagine the varied numbers are from different SOC at the time of testing.

The downside to having deeper charge/discharge cycles is it reduces battery life. It could be that Toyota had to increase the charge/discharge cycle to make up for the loss of power from the detuning, with a goal to net the original (or perhaps better) mileage. I just wish they were transparent and disclose exactly what the changes are.

My 9 second times we from within 30 minutes of starting. Battery indicator is usually ~50% when I park at night.

Yesterday's 10 second runs were after 30 minutes run time (closer to an hour) with 75%+ on battery indicator.

As for HP, after 60 mph I let off so there may be a few more ponies in there in the top 1500 RPM.

My test runs have been after engine is up to full temperature and SOC is in the 60% normal range.
