Someone in town has engines, transmissions, and inverters for sale. Apparently the person doing rebuilding of Prius's died and they have to unload his inventory. I'm so tempted to buy a spare inverter, he is asking $80 and I'm sure he'll sell me one for $50 if I wanted. What a dilemma....to have parts that will rarely fail

Where is this facility located? Any information would be helpful... phone number, address.
    Thanks,
    Manny

do you have a pick up? Maybe we can do a group purchase and buy the entire lot, pennies on the dollar.

JC, as many Pri as you have and work with, I would buy the whole lock stock and barrel. I bet it will help both parties in the long run!

That is a good price on a inverter if it works.

I wanted to but when I mentioned I wanted to buy 3, he raised his price to 180. He says he priced it too low. I can only store the inverters, I don't have room for any engines or transmissions. But at $180, I think I'll pass and wait for a failure and pay $300 on ebay.

    SM-N900P ?

Ummm... I would buy it for $50 and put it on ebay for (whatever they are going for on ebay) and make a profit!

Edit: Just read he raised the price. Bummer.

He wouldn't even sell at $80, marked them up once I told him I wanted 3. He smelled something funny with me wanting 3. And hell no to flipping on ebay, that would be a lot of work to do. These are used parts and from LKQ, but there is no guarantee coming from this seller. I would not want to risk my ebay reputation on flipping electronics......

Thats why you sell them as-is ;) Not that big of a deal, Ive done similar things on ebay over my 14 year stint and have 100% feedback (out of 608). Just gotta word it so that buyers know the risk.

Bummer though that the guy changed the deal. We could've put in a request to change your user name to BuyMyInverter91006, lol

Haha! I sell all kinds of fun things. I have been known to find some good things at the local thrift store or garage sales and put them on ebay. My pride and joy re-sell was a passenger side brake pedal assembly I bought about 6 years ago. I'm a drivers education instructor and thought it'd be handy to have in case I ever started my own company. I paid $15 or so for the pedal and all the necessary hardware, etc. A total steal - they go for $300+ new. This one was like new.

I put it on ebay in auction format (not fixed price) this past fall and ended up getting $250 for it. (y) I sold it as-is where is, no returns refunds, no passing go and collecting $200, no strings attached and dont let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya....lol.

Maybe you can work a deal out with that guy to sell the inverters for him and you get 20% for your time.

Hey, they dont call me a hustler for nothin' :D
