    You are right..
In that case, I guess I will have to pay the dealership for both the keyfob *and* to program it, for the first keyfob any way..
If I ever get a second keyfob though, I should be able to use the chicken dance to program it since I will already have a master keyfob to copy from..

The price you were quoted from the dealer probably does not include the new seed code programming. Did you tell them you lost all your keys and you need one programmed? The price you mentioned sounds like just regular "chicken dance" programming charge. When you get your receipt, it should show you the part number for the new transmitter, you can use that part # and purchase online for much less than retail price.

You can get new keys online for about $100. You can try to google partsfactory at camelback toyota.

Edit: Better yet, just give the dealer your 2 keys and see if they can program those 2.....with a new seed code. You would save on the money to buy new transmitters, just pay for the programming fee.

Or just have a full size Toyota key cut (at WalMart) for $3, and use it just like an old school car. After all, the only function you're missing is the remote lock/unlock function right?

I like USNavy's suggestion, since you have the base model, there is no SKS function. Why spend the money.
