I love my new Prius (day 3 with it), but the radio SQ is sub par, and I feel like having a touch screen radio without a video AUX-in is silly.
For those of you who have this HU, can you answer the following?
** Can you still use the built in USB port in the center console with this?
** How's the SQ with non JBL, Gen 3? Wondering if I need to upgrade the speakers too.
** Are there audio/video AUX in (Other than backup camera)? E.g. to plugin my raspberry PI.
** Are the car options and or info still available? I like that I can change options on the screen, as well as view my MPG efficiency.

    Thanks!
And thanks for the writeup and pictures on page 3; I'm pretty sure I'll be needing them soon!

Edit: I actually don't see a 2012 option on the Ottonavi website. I may be out of luck anyhow. :/

I am getting ready to buy one of these after reading this..

My main concern is iPhone 5s compatibility.. Anyone running this unit with the NEW iPhone?

Is there a special plug or adapter needed?

    Thanks
    Kevin

Install was easy, nav is working fine, bluetooth for iphone 5s is working fine.. But...

NO IPOD!!! :( I tried everything, 4 different iphone/ipods (3/4/4s/5s) and nothing.. Unit wont find any of them. Double checked cable, cable is fine.. Super bummed here!!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Did you try using the phone or ipod to find the HU instead?

Is the Ottonavi still available for the Gen III Prius ? I am not seeing it on the Ottonavi webpage. I am only seeing one for the Gen II. After mulling over the decision, I have finally decided to purchase one (and, they seem to be having a good Easter sale right now). Unfortunately, I can't locate it on their website.

Hmmm.. successful Ottonavi install (purchased from Amazon); but it appears that it didn't ship with an SD card so I get an error that it cannot launch the Navigator from the storage card. I had a couple miniSDs available, but can someone point me in the right direction as to what I need to download? Thanks in advance!

No SD card; that's a bummer.
You can ask Ottonavi directly; they used to have download link for the software.
Or you can try the gpsunderground site. There are many others around.

Thanks - yeah - I was less than pleased about it and dug through all the packaging to make sure it wasn't taped to something else. Wasn't able to find any information on directory/folder structure that would be specific to what shipped with the unit . Was able to spend a couple hours on gpsunderground and got myself setup with iGO Primo and it works for what I need. Once I dig through the UI customization thread I'll be happier.

I looked on Ottonavi's site and there's no published information for software downloads :( Amazon said they're going to reach out to them on my behalf and reconcile the issue with a replacement or at least a new SD card with the software. But, for now I have a functional GPS.

Now if I can just troubleshoot why my signal drops out in certain places in the valley (both on my OEM HU and this one). Thanks for the reply!

The best place to put your GPS antenna IMO is on the left notch inside the upper glove box.
Very easy to install and it almost feels like it was designed for it.
Like this: never lost the signal.

Ah - sorry - should have clarified - the reception issue that's plagued me is the AM/FM reception (I made a new thread) - the GPS works great (I did mount it in the glove box and have had no issues thus far).
