2014 C suspension upgrades

    I've had my Prius C for a week now and I'd like to add some bolt-ons to the suspensions to tighten things up.

    After surfing the internet, would I be correct in assuming that Cusco makes some solid quality parts?

    I'm looking at ordering from juiced hybrid.

    I make an inexpensive solid one piece "billet aluminum" mid-chassis under brace, but I'm no longer allow to sell them here.

    The overpriced three piece welded aluminum CUSCO one is too complicated and inefficient.

    Although even the Yaris includes a stabilizing center chassis brace, Toyota left it out of the Prius "c."

    The mountings are there, but NO brace is installed.

    i majorly improved my suspension response merely pumping the tires to 40psi. but i dont understand the center brace thingy though. how could it have that much flex? or is that flex a good thing? and how does the brace so accurately jig up to the car? are the tolerances nowadays that much precise? amazing

    I's do a search of PriusChat and see what other's say. Just search "chassis brace" in PriusChat.

    I thought the same way you did, when I got my Prius"v" in early 2012. Toyota improved the stiffness of the Gen III brace in mid 2012 without advising anyone.

    You will definitely see a difference.

    I LOVE all THREE of my Ultra Racing braces, no name ebay center brace, as well as my trd rear sway. Looking to get the Megan racing rear stabilizer and then time for air bags!

    Thanks for the input.

    I've ordered the Cusco strut tower brace from juiced and a previously mentioned under brace.

    A lot of engineering goes into the design and making of braces.

    I'm not sold on the Ultra-braces, since I do not like any component that is nearly "in line" with the central axis of the car and is welded to horizontal components.

    Should the welds break or the acute angle of the bars "fold," the component could intrude through the floor or firewall of the car and impale the passengers.

    A strut tower bar and a chassis underbraces that are mounted "transverse" to the axis are not likely at all to intrude into the passenger compartment.

    The Ultra Racing braces are available in MANY different configurations and all I've seen are built to the same standard and brace the same points as Cusco and Greddy bars.

    I have their;
    Strut tower brace
    Front subframe brace
    Rear chassis brace (right before the rear axle mounts, replacing the small stamped braces and connecting the left to right vs the stock just the outer to inner "channel")

    The first thing I would get is a rear sway bar. Made the biggest difference at the lowest cost.

    The Cusco rear sway is what I'm looking at getting next.

    I'm going with 1 upgrade a month to keep the War Department happy.

    PS juiced hybrid has some awfully high prices, do yourself a favor no matter the brand or type of part you're looking for and search a bit, a lot of good alternatives around!

    so the best and first upgrade in the suspension/bracing field is? the rear sway bar?

    Rear sway makes a LARGE difference and is cheap(ish)

    Agreed. Biggest bang for the buck is a rear sway bar.

    Everyone on here seems to be on Whiteline's nutsack... which is fine and dandy except the whiteline sway for our vehicle(s) is CRAP IMO. The TRD is stupid affordable and IMO a better design. In reality they're kinda all more of an axle stiffener than true sway.

    Use the same one from the yaris.
