If you're not in a rush, take a look at more cars. Los Angeles has so many of these cars, there's always new ones popping up in ads.

I would look at more options. This one although fits your price range, it's not the perfect vehicle.

The hybrid warranty on this car is not voided, it still has the standard 8yr/100k warranty. Just not the extended CA 10 year/150k miles warranty.

Somewhere in my pile of research I have that information. That leaves this one with about 3 years or 45K miles...

Awesome. Came across one myself that isn't so bad. Thank you sir.

2010 Black Prius II 52,000 miles

Black show's dust and dirt build up like no other.

Did 2010's come equipped with steel wheels and hub caps or only alloys?

My bank might not approve of this but seems like a good deal from the get go. A bit high mileage relative to what I'm looking for but service records are meticulous.

Pretty neat, my bank is approving all these VIN's I'm running on older models. So far 2007 is the oldest that has been approved.

The black one with 63,000 and listed for 10,400 is wishy washy. The AutoCheck confirms 2 accidents and the CarFax shows a mileage report of 80,000 miles in may of 2012 ??? Is toyota known for fumbling up the mileage when the cars are taken in for service? It went from 55k to 80k in 8 months.

I understand the mileage can be turned back using techstream software (aka miniVCI). I would avoid that car, dealers don't normally make a mistake in logging mileage.

If you can get a 2007 model, that would open up many more options for you. The white Prius 1 shouldn't be worthwhile, it's very expensive for what it is. Also smaller dealerships normally buy their cars at auctions. And we all know why cars to go auctions....

Why do they end up at auctions?

Also, is there a spec sheet on curb weight floating around of the 2nd generation prius comparing the packages from one to touring? Common sense tells me the lighter the car the closer I can get to advertised mpg. I'm aiming fewer options but if it's been tested that touring models are capable of the same mpg I won't be rejecting them as I have been.

All the GOOD CARS are kept by the major dealerships to sell on their own. All the not so good cars go straight to auction where smaller no name dealerships buy them to sell.

There is a spec sheet around, I wouldn't know how to locate/search it. I've seen in many posts where that's available and posted. You might want to start a new thread asking for that information and someone will post it.

All the cars regardless if they are touring or not (should) achieve mileage over 40mpg. It would depend on your driving style/habit, the route that you take (flat or hills), temperature, etc that determines what mpg you will get. I normally get around 45 mpg, but many here can get way over that and some get below that. The touring models should be more expensive as they are more equipped with extra options and suspensions.

Ok, I was aware of that I was thinking there might be another reason.

Better suspension you say? Hmmm. I will have to look into this. Better suspension would be a worthwhile upgrade for me.
