There aren't that many Touring models out there. Many sellers will list their cars as "touring models" however they are just regular Prius cars. You will have to know how to identify them. Many of the parts on a touring model can be added to a regular Prius to "look" like a touring model too.

I don't have a touring model in my collection of Prius cars but from what I understand, the wheels are different from the regular Prius and the spoiler is bigger too. The shocks in the back look different, but I'm not sure what the identifying marks are. Try and get other members with more information to ring in on this matter, you would need to create another thread regarding "touring models" information. All the different equipment and packages do get quite confusing with the Prius.

    Ok, sounds good, thanks.

There are a few members on here who have reported 2mpg difference in the Touring but it is case by case. Too many factors to really say concretely.

I got an appointment to check out one of those which is a standard model with all the Touring options pretty much besides suspension, wheels and spoiler it seems like. Stealerships really give you the run around they posted a stock image and spec sheet yet the car has all the Touring options besides the ones previously stated. I can't get an answer out of them wether it is Touring or not so I will be checking it out tomorrow morning. It's a 2007 charcoal grey prius with 55k miles listed at $13995 but the salesman quoted me 12700 plus taxes and fees right off the bat upon calling me back about it. Apparently they spent about $1100 in refurbishing as well.

When in doubt, price it as if it were a non touring model. That's most likely what it is.

Also as you get older in years, you'll have less time remaining on the hybrid warranty.

Yeah thats unfortunate with the 07's. Only 3 years remaining. Preferably I'd like an 09 at least so I have that warranty backing me as I pay off my 5 year loan.

This is calculated based on when the car was put into service. If the car was bought in sept 06 as an 07 model, it would be even less than 3 years remaining.

Under 12k. I want to say 10.5k but I'm not sure I haven't calculated.. Safe to say not a lot. I try to avoid it if at all possible. In fact I'm planning on moving closer to work at the end of the year / beginning new year so I can make that a bike ride and use the car on grocery runs, going out, weekends and out of town trips only.

I really should only be looking at 2009s then.

With the few miles you drive, are you sure you want a prius? It won't save you much compared to a regular 4cyl car. They are cheaper to buy and won't have hv battery and inverter issues

you can get a prius c 2, with no money down and 60 month finance for 19800 no sales tax in oregon comes out to 330 a month brand new! Toyota seems to be offering 0% on all the hybrid family so check out the cost per month. If you buy a used car for 14000 with 5.9% intrest your payment comes out to 270 a month. note the prius c is smaller and drives like it is much smaller! I like mine fine:D

Going as green as possible is very important to me so, yes. The savings are a bonus. My goal is reducing my carbon emissions as much as possible.

Did a thorough check on the car. It checks out minus a few minor issues. Oxidized paint, headlight fade is starting at the tops. The hood doesn't drop and shut like a normal car does, the bumper is just up against the driver headlight. The best way i can describe it is it's slightly misaligned and touching the driver side headlight, it's clear the bumper hit something. It's got a white rash about 8 - 10 inches long and 2 inches wide on the underside of the bumper driver side. The hood is interesting, it's as if it's been removed and then tightened too tight. Maybe some kind of warpage, it lingers open by itself at the top of it's range of motion without the help of the stick. Neither does it close properly when let go at the usual height, it latches but doesn't close all the way unless it's swung shut like a door. Another way to describe it is it could be pushes shut after latched and it shuts fine but it has more than usual drag.

Sounds like front end repair. What did the owner say? Records, carfax?

The autocheck has been the best one yet, all green across the board.

Owner says no accidents but that it was either a drive way or parking lot store curb for the bumper. The hood having drag is what's weird.

Clearly this car lives outside of a garage from the headlight and paint issues. Even if the bumper got hit, shouldn't affect the hood. Something isn't right.
    Price?

Havent talked yet. It's at 13900 But I feel comfortable walking if it's above 12,800. Ideally my range is 12 and 12.5. We'll see how I can work the angles.

Actually there was a couple mechanical yellow flags as well. When shifted in reverse a louder than usual tick sound like a relay or switch. Also, after initial start-up everything checked fine until I put my foot on te brake and held it a bit then some repetitive sound started I never heard on others. The best way to describe it is like a small car alarm horn slightly beeping, not loud but evidently not normal. Blip blip blip blip... blip blip... blip blip blip.

We'll see what toyota says, either way I wont feel great about the inspection results since its not my mehanic it's the dealer where he gets his service done...

See what the dealer says about the hood alignment. The brake "blip" sound is probably the actuator pump, it's like a fast rattle.

I would pay for an inspection until you've ironed out the price details

Yea my mistake but it's ok I'll eat the $100 up.

I can say with certainty it isnt't that rattle or hyper ticking sound. I've learned to discern the actuator pump noise, this is different. Think more sporadic beeps/blips, low pitch and dull in tone.

I'm purely speculating here but maybe actuator pump issue? I heard the actuator pump hyper clicking after I powered the car off and went to take a look underneath the hood.
