well we are up to 19200. which isn't bad since out the door in january I paid 16750...for the car. I'm not being greedy, just want a fair value.

USAA is pretty fair. They have been very good to us. over the last 22 years or so I think they have paid out nearly 40K (including this one) in claims. only about 3K in actual accident damages. the rest have been storm damages to cars and house.

here are some replacements I'm looking at. going to look at the wagon tomorrow....

im leaning towards to 2012 V wagon

but the black 2013 iv with 19K on the odo with a nice balance of the factory warranty remaining..

and the 2011 v with ATP package is interesting..

but I vowed to never buy a black car again...

Ooo, that's no good. Hope it gets better for you. Black looks sharp but it is hard to keep clean and it gets hot, from what I've heard from people who have/had black cars. The white doesn't show dirt as much as people would think it would. I'm quite surprised.

I've had black cars. Never again. Those are for people who enjoy spending time detailing their vehicles. I am not one of those people. White cars are so much more forgiving IME.

White shows every stone chip & blemish though. Black doesn't. Having had a black Fusion Hybrid and now a white Fusion Hybrid I can say that I miss the black. The black FFH had a few stone chips on the front end that weren't really noticeable unless you were looking. The white FFH just got its first stone chip last month and it's very noticeable. The Prius has one near the left DRL and it's also very noticeable to me. Because of the contrast of the white paint with the dark chip it makes it stand out more.

Black shows every swirl, streak, scratch, minor dust, and water spot, though. Like it felt like I could not hardly drive through smoke without it showing. It just drove me nuts to see every barely-blemish more than any chip ever has, but then again, I'm not one who enjoys spending a lot of time detailing them. To get my black cars to look just overall clean took way more effort on my part. I can blot a dot of touch up paint in a chip if necessary which seems less fussy to me than constantly needing to buff out swirls and streaks and wipe off water spots for it to look clean. Just personal preference, but I'm all hizzell to the nizzaw on ever having another black car. As far as appearance maintenance goes, I much prefer white cars, or any other lighter color. I think black looks sharp with people who care enought to spend the time to keep them up. I'm just not one of those people.

The only problem up here with a white car is those damn yellow slime grass hoppers we have all summer :( I don't think there are too many bugs in the city but I don't take my car in there as the highways are like driving in a sand storm.

Dark colored cars all turn yellow here around the beginning of spring and if you want to wash it off you'll be doing that weekly. Too much trouble for those who don't have time to wash a car every week. I'll stick to the white/light colors.

I seen on TV 0% for 60 months on all 2014 Prius. Buying anything at no interest or maybe 3% on down is a good deal :)

Silver seems to be the best for hiding dirt and blemishes. White looks great and is cool but shows the rain spray from other cars easily. I would never own another black car in Florida. Just bought a Barcelona Red 2012 five w/atp. Two days and love it so far.

If this was mine I'd be saying, "Still drivable." ;)

    Light, light green is best.
Doesn't show the dirt like white.

Twice a year down here, we are overrun with lovebugs, clouds of them. They are pretty rough on paint. If there were going to be a deterrent to me buying another white car, it's the swarms of lovebugs down here, but it's only twice a year, and even I can be bothered to bring out the water hose and some soap that often. But I freaking hate lovebugs.

Part of lovebug driving season tradition... park the car, get the hose, wash the bug mash off the paint, then go inside. If you let it cook on, it's gonna melt into the paint. That goo is like acid etch for paint. Doesn't matter what color, it ruins them all.

Or get someone else to do it.

I get them off. I just don't always do it if I can get out of it. I really don't love washing cars, but I make sure it gets done.

I sound so lazy. I swear I'm awesome in so many ways that make up for my car-washing slackerness. My husband, bless his heart, would not stand for lovebugs accumulating, so he jumps right on it. I may or may not exploit that.
