    Hello to all.
I have a Toyota Prius 2012 type 2 and I did install a vip 3200 Plus alarm system. My question is that why is the automatic lock not working? I park the car, get out, and close the door but do not lock the car. After 5 minutes, the automatic lock system is not engage or the alarm system does not arm. Any ideas?

I'm not sure if any Toyota has an auto-lock feature when you're not in the car. It should auto-lock when you shift the car into D, or reach a certain speed.

    My 2014 only auto re-lock.

The car re-locks when I unlock the car via the key fob and never open the door. The car has to be locked already.

The car does not lock itself when you park it after a drive. You have to manually lock it.

The re-lock feature is if the unlock button on the key fob is accidentally pressed while in your pocket.

Both my 2011 and 2012 Gen IIIs do that.

I lock using the button on the armrest. That way I NEVER take my fob out of my pocket.

Wait.... OP, are you asking about the factory re-lock feature or are you asking about a specific feature that the aftermarket alarm you purchased is supposed to have?

Just touch the sensor on the outside door handle. I never use the lock button on the armrest.

The auto-lock is specific to the alarm system, not the car as supplied from the factory.

It is very hot and humid outside my car, I prefer doing all my busy work inside
