I first saw the Avalon Hybrid in the Dark Cherry Red with black interior. Oh baby. Love at first sight.

I took a Lexus ES 300H for a test drive. To my opinion the 2014 Avalon has it outclassed.

That one is the exact color of mine. Looks like the same car as mine.

Here's the answer to the question from a slightly different point of view:

If I got tired of hearing that my fully functional 40+ mpg 1993 geo metro was a deathtrap in which the least I would inevitably lose was my left leg, then the car I would choose would be a prius c!

Been following since 1977 and almost did it before I bought the Prius. Unfortunately commute MPG was the priority at that time, so wisdom won again.

I gotta say, even though there aren't that many on the road, the Avalon really is a nice car...

Basically, it's the same size as a Lexus GS, and starts $16,000 cheaper. Is that kinda money really worth a few extra horsepower you'll never use, and all those BS gadgets you'll never need?

Good choice, Okinawa. I would like a big honkin' car too when I'm 76 :)

I wish there were a Hybrid Camry Wagon. If there were, I'd get that instead of my Prius.

    Or a Prius wagon (not a V - a wagon).

Or if they sold the Corolla/Auris Hybrid Wagon in Australia, I'd have that. I'd just like a bit more space in the boot.

I'm glad my daughter isn't on this thread. She knows what she wants instead of a Prius.

We'd gone with my brother-in-law to a car auction. The girls had clambered round lots of cars while we were there, and decided what they liked and what they didn't like. It was in Liverpool, which is one of the rougher parts of Sydney, full of scary people. The girls got hungry, and McDonald's was the only food option nearby.

So we're in the queue at McDonald's, among lots of heavily-tattooed psychos.

And my elder daughter spoke in that loud voice that only five- and six-year-olds have.

    "Daddy?"

    "Yes?"

"When the Prius gets old and we need a new car, can we get a Volvo? I love Volvos."

Well, I can't accuse her of not being true to her solidly middle-class roots. We did get a few stares from the tattooed psychos, but fortunately no-one killed us. Which was nice.

One of my neighbours has the new Golf R, in that Golf R blue. It's very anonymous, which I like. And from everything I've heard, it makes Imprezas and Evos look slow.

Since the prius kinda fell in my lap due to my mother's inability to drive, what I would have owned would probably be a Nissan GT-R and drop it off at my friends at SP Engineering fir their SPE1000 package. Either that or a ML65 AMG... With lots of modifications. The prius is merely just for insurance savings, and money savings appliance so I can buy more guns and ammo

A Golf R (2.0) with some small work will see in excess of 350bhp (map, intake & exhaust) (Up to 400bhp with a more agressive map)

I'm sure that it will be much quicker than a stock evo or scooby, but how may of those are around! lol

I've come to think about it some more, and what I have decided would be both my 2014 Silverado (once I finish all my mods on it), and a Wald LS460.

On the Silverado, I currently have all my audio done (but may replace the head unit with the Alpine Direct Fit unit), King coilover with remote reservoir shock in the rear, AFE intake and exhast, Volk Racing TE37 Large PCD in 18x9, and Falken 275/70-18 Wildpeak A/T tires. Currently I'm waiting on a Magnuson supercharger kit, and a set of 3.73 gears.

As far as a Lexus LS460 goes, it'll be a nice executive place to be in and be seen. To give an idea of what I'm going here:

My wife already has her supercharged K20 swapped Honda Civic and supercharged Honda Pilot. The Civic is a 2005 LX sedan with a K20A3 engine and the 5-speed automatic transmission from a base RSX swapped with a Comptech supercharger kit, Comptech Ice Box for a Civic Si, and a custom 2.5" ID exhaust with a Magnaflow muffler and resonator. The car is lowered on a set of A'pexi N1 Pro coilovers that I retired out of my RSX race car and rebuilt for her car, RSX sway bars, Wilwood brakes, 18x7 SSR Competition wheels, and a set of 225/40-18 Falken Azenis FK453 tires. Audio is pretty basic: Pioneer AVIC-Z140BH head unit, JL Audio XD700/5 amp, Pioneer D-series 6.75" components up front, and one of the cheaper JL 12W0 loaded boxes in the trunk.

The Pilot is a 2012 Touring 2WD model. It is lowered on custom KW V3 coilovers. Brakes are stock except for stainless braided lines. Wheels are 20x8.5" Volk Racing G2 with 255/50-20 Falken Azenis FK453CC tires. The engine is stock except for the CT Engineering supercharger that I pulled up out of my Ridgeline, 2.5" exhaust before it Y's down to a pair of 2.25" Dynomax VT mufflers. Audio is again fairly basic. Went with another Pioneer AVIC-Z140BH head unit, a pair of JL Audio XD400/4 amps (running both bridged to power the front stage as an active crossover), a JL Audio XD600/1 amp, an old set of Image Dynamics CXS (I think that was the series) components up front, and a JL Audio 12TW3 subwoofer.

Yeah, as you can tell, I can't drive a stock car. All my cars stay stock for maybe all of a month before I start messing with them.

:)When I purchased my 2012 Prius, I did so with an open mind. Wanting something different, I chose a Prius Plug In. I'm in my happy place with cars, for now.

Had a 03 Mini Cooper S before the Prius. Most fun you can have in a car without being RWD in my opinion.

I was going to lease the 14 Fiesta ST (35 mpg avg, 210 torque) before the Prius but they wanted $70 more a month with a higher down payment (MSRP 21k) vs 24k for the Prius

Also, if i could drive a RWD as a daily in Michigan, i would of gotten the Scion FR-s or a certified 370Z

    @C25A1guy
If your basic audio setup is around 3-5k and all your cars have superchargers and drink gas, why don't you just get a Tesla or something?

I wish my 'basic' audio was as good as yours lmao
