Has anyone else tried the Mobil 1 0w-30 for higher fuel economy? It advertises up to a 2% increase. Same price as regular Mobil 1. regards

This seems like a perfect choice in the hotter climates. Shouldn't think to see any change in FE but certainly better protection in the higher temps. Would be interesting to see what others have experienced.

I can imagine an MPG improvement in the winter, not now.

I use M1 0W-30 Advanced Fuel Economy all the time in winter, in spring I switch over to M1 5W-30 Extended Drain in case I don't feel like changing oil until the snow falls. Well, 2% MPG increase I cannot confirm. The other advantage is lower visc helps to get oil to the engine quicker when its -20 outside. There is some thought that Gen2's develop a little more %gasoline in the used lube than Gen3's so I figure my 5w-30 is down to 0W-30 by the time I dump it. And of course I don't dump it it goes to the county recycle center when I get around to it, which means its still here in my garage.

I suppose I should ask... which model do you have? Your sig says a 2009 but the picture is of a 2010-11...

well, We have both a 09 and a 10 Prius. I like the 10 better of course but the 09 is the iconic look.

I use M1 0W-30 Advanced Fuel Economy in my 2008 Touring model. I have used it since the first oil change so I cannot talk to improvement from OEM oil. I have been very pleased with the results and have no reason to change my routine of changing oil every 6K.

another thing, I go with 10 k oil changes and it seems to work out just fine. The oil looks great even at 10k. The reason I went to 10k intervals is that my 10 Prius is 10k so it seem to make sense.

...of course the 10 Prius(Gen3) would be a candidate for the M1 0W-20, which may be where Spidey was going with that...
All lot of posters have said the Toyota synthetics are very good low temp performance too, but Walmart is so much easier to get to for me.
