    On a trip to Chicago the all but the last leg was at the speed limit, mostly 70 MPH. The last leg avoided the Interstate and maxed out at 60 MPH. That made a big difference in the MPG! photo.PNG

    San Francisco to San Diego at 75 to 85 mph with air on. 38 mph
    Nothing else gets 38 at those speeds.
    My usual commute.
    50/50 interstate/Urban
    54 to 58 mpg.

    It is an iOS app called "Road Trip." What is shown in a trip report.

    Tolls kill. I hate spending more on tolls than on gas, especially when there is a free surface road next to the toll road.

    Wait... Why use a toll road if there's a surface street alternative? Speed? My understanding is that people usually pay tolls to travel faster. Seems reasonable.

    Yea, but I'm gonna drive fast anyway, so at least in the Prius I can drive fast and still get 45.

    If you really want to improve your MPG;(y)

    Pump your tires up;
    drive slower;
    pulse and glide, if possible;
    coast when you can;
    get behind a large box trailer or box truck;
    and sometimes, if no traffic,
    drive like you are running out of gas.:)

    You will see your MPG go UP.:cool:
