Got stuck behind a truck going slower than I would normally go on the way to work (55 on the hwy instead of 60), but decided to roll with it. I figured there was no reason for faster traffic to have to go around him only to have to go around me 1/2 mile later.

I'm pretty sure I wasn't following closely enough for it to be drafting, but the difference in mpg was staggering. I typically roll into work showing about 63mpg over the nearly 23 mile trip...today was 74. Maybe the wind was at my back today.

If you can find a 'pacing' vehicle, mileage is great. Other opportunities:
    • pickup truck with a trailer
    • car with 'handicap' tag

...or follow one of those damn Priuses... :D

Seriously though I love sitting behind a truck and just letting everyone else go past. Depends somewhat on the situation.

I always avoid following trucks and vehicles with large tires. They are pretty good at throwing rocks and stones up into your paint and windshield.

Already had to replace our Prius' windshield once at significant expense. It's not worth risking again for saving a bit of gas IMHO.
