This might sound a stupid question but how the heck do I rename a radio present on the Toyota SatNav systems?

All 6 presets was setup by dealer and named accordingly.

I manually tuned the radio to the FM frequency to my station, then pressed on one of the Presets for 2 seconds and it saved the frequency but kept the original name of the station that was initially preset'ted.

For the life of me I could not delete those presets or rename them. There wasn't anything either in the manual about deleting or renaming radio presets.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

What model? There are at least two significantly different radios used in the US. That's why you get better help when you fill out the profile instead of leaving N/A. Mine on a US v model 3 (display audio with low res nav) you just press and the FM, AM or SAT channel name moves to that preset. No naming at all. The best radio is quite different and uses a higher resolution nav.

    Thanks for responding.

Mine is the i-Tech (only 2 models in Australia) which is the equivalent to the Five in the US I think. The SatNav is combined with the JBL audio.

So it's probably the 7" version.

Well typically you go to AUDIO so the presets show and you wait a while as the radio receives RDS messages. Once it has the new radio station's name or is cycling through the song's artist and title, it'll override the previous name.

    Thanks for the response.

On my radio, it doesn't cycle through song's artist or titles. When I choose the new frequency (FM), it doesn't update the radio stations name. Maybe this specific FM radio station doesn't do RDS I guess or something is strange in Australia. I might just tune into a random frequency and try and save it into a preset hoping to clear out the current radio station name with the frequency and try the station I want to preset again.

As a last resort I guess disconnecting the 12V battery will loose the radio presets but only want to do this as a last resort.

    Hmm, maybe.

Well it wouldn't be the end of the world. It's not like you don't remember your favourite radio station frequencies :). Also you may have to reset/normalise the express up/down windows too if you disconnect the 12V but the instructions are in the manual.
